DID KIM CHIU really try to commit suicide after her breakup with Gerald Anderson? Some Kim defenders say this is not true. “To begin with, never naman naging sila talaga,” they say. “And we know Kim, she’s not the type na magpapakamatay dahil lang sa isang lalaki. Ang saya nga niyang si ang napiling most beautiful ng Yes.”
To which, others counter: “Hindi lang sila umamin, but nag-on talaga sila. Maski itanong nyo pa kay Robi Domingo na sinabihan ni Kim na wag na siyang ligawan dahil sila na nga ni Gerald. But between them, si Kim ang mas in love kay Gerald kaysa the other way around kaya siyang mas naapektuhan sa breakup nila.”
“Kung talagang naging sila, bakit sila hindi aamin when it will definitely help boost the popularity of their love team?” says another camp. “Pinaiingay lang yan dahil magkaka-project si Gerald with Bea Alonzo.”

ROBIN PADILLA says he didn’t have to ask permission from Willie Revillame to host ABS-CBN’s new show “Pilipinas Win na Win”. “Hindi ko inagaw ito dahil bagong show ito na inoffer sa’kin,” he says. “Kaya di ko kailangang magpaalam.”
Is it true he already gave co-host Mariel Rodriguez an engagement ring? “Naku, nanliligaw pa lang ako. Hindi pa kami engaged.”
Robin was a hit when he hosted “Wowowee” for a week and he charmed his female co-hosts there, including Mariel who recently admitted in her Twitter account that “I Heart Robin”. Now that they’ll be seen together everyday, expect fans to watch their every move. But take note that their new co-host, Kris Aquino, was once also linked to Robin before. Robin and Richard Gomez even had a fistfight over Kris in Malacanang in the early 90s. Now, Kris is unattached again after she dumped husband James Yap. Won’t there be a Part 2 for her and Robin even when Mariel is now around to make it a triangle?
“Ay hindi,” someone says. “Walang mangyayaring ganyan kasi ang gusto ni Robin, mga bata at sariwa, hindi yung marami ng karanasan sa iba-ibang lalaki. Talagang in love siya now kay Mariel. JEAN GARCIA denies that she has a new BF who’s a rich politician. “Hindi po yun totoo,” she says at the “ILumina” presscon. “Walang politician, pero I admit may bago akong nakilala na attracted ako. Parang kinikilig ako, He’s a foreigner. We met by accident in this place na lumapit siya sa’kin at nagpakilala. He’s nice, mabait, at mas gusto ko na itong non-showbiz para less intriga at walang competition kasi magkaiba kayo ng field. Gusto ko siyang inspiration but we’re not sure yet kung magtutuloy ito. Siempre, wish ko rin naman to have someone by my side when I grow old.”
When she walked on the ramp for FHM recently, she got thunderous applause from the crowd. How did she feel about it? “Siempre proud kasi di ko akalain na mas malakas pa palakpak sa’kin kaysa ibang stars na younger than me. May asim pang lola nyo.”
About her daughter, is it true she resents Alwyn Uytingco for Jennica as he’s a bad influence? “I’m not that kind of person who’d judge someone. Dumadalaw siya sa’min at walang pinapakitang masama sa’kin. But I think it’s now for Alwyn to prove his detractors wrong. Pakita niyang positive influence siya sa anak ko.”
Would she allow Jennica to pose for FHM? “Sa’kin okay lang. Matagal na siyang may offer dun, ayaw niya. But it’s her decision, di ako nakikialam.”
She’s delighted to be in full villain mode once more in “ILumina” that starts telecast tomorrow night. “Stepmom ako rito ni Aljur Abrenica at paglalabanin ko ang magkapatid na Rhian Ramos at Jackie Rice in my desire to get the ILumina, the book that will give me superpowers dahil black sorceress ako rito.”

CLAUDINE BARRETTO will have a special and exclusive one-on-one interview with ex-boyfriend Mark Anthony Fernandez this afternoon in “Showbiz Central”. This is the first time that they’ll be facing each other since they broke up more than ten years ago and we hope they won’t feel awkward with each other. It’ll be recalled that Claudine was annoyed when Mark didn’t show up at the previous meetings GMA-7 set up for them, but she says that’s now all forgotten. As teeners, they did films like “Pare Ko” and “Mangarap Ka” for Star Cinema in the mid-90s. Both of them are said to be willing to work with each other again in what we heard will be the finale episode on Claudine’s Saturday drama anthology show.

WHEN SUSAN ROCES was starting at Sampaguita Pictures when she was 15, Dolphy was the one who supported her in “Kulang sa Pito” and they’ve remained good friends since then. They just both celebrated their birthdays, Dolphy on July 25 and Swanie on July 28, so she agreed to be Dolphy’s special guest in his TV5 show, “Pidol’s Wonderland”, tonight. The episode featured is about a little boy who steals things, Pete Kupit, played by child actor Jacob Rica who worked with Susan before in GMA-7’s “Sana Ngayong Pasko”. Pete maybe a rich boy but he can’t stop himself from taking things that are not his. He wakes up one day unable to control his right hand anymore that seems to have acquired a life of his own. This episode in “Pidol’s Wonderland” will teach kids how to be honest and not to take things that are not theirs.
