Claudine was a no show and there was no reason given. “Natakot siguro matanong about her feud with Angelica Panganiban,” says one writer.
It’ll be recalled that Angelica’s original fight was with Claudine’s Ate Gretchen because of Derek Ramsay. But they’ve kissed and made up and it’s ironic that Angelica is now at odds with Claudine who was her co-star in “Iisa Pa Lamang” two years ago. Claudine says she heard that Angelica is spreading rumors about her having an affair with a friend of Derek, so she’s bent on filing libel or slander cases. She has several witnesses who’ll testify that Angelica is maligning her and she can’t just bypass this as it might ruin her marriage to Raymart Santiago. “I really want to see her in court dahil gusto niyang sirain ang pamilya ko,” Claudine declared. “You don’t mess with my family.”
But Johnny Manahan, head of Star Magic that manages Angelica, counters that they’re backing up their talent all the way and are ready to defend her. Ironically, Mr. M used to be very protective of Claudine when she was still with them. But now that she’s with GMA-7, it’s apparent Mr. M has no love lost for her. Someone from Angelica’s camp says: “May nanggatong lang kay Claudine, agad naman siyang naniwala sa mga sulsol sa kanya kaya inaway-away agad si Angelica sa cellphone at Twitter. She said hindi mabibigyan si Angelica ng sariling teleserye kundi siya umalis ng ABS. Dumating nga sa point that Angelica changed her cellfone number kasi ayaw siyang tantanan ni Claudine.” But we’re told what annoyed Claudine was when Angelica told her to “stop it, girl, dahil hindi naman nagre-rate ang drama series mo sa GMA. Dun mas lumala ang patutsadahan nila.”

ONE OF THE castaways in “Survivor Philippines Celebrity Edition” is cager-model Ervic Vijandre, better known as Marian Rivera’s ex-BF. Understandably, Ervic demurs from answering queries about Marian. “Matagal na yung sa’min at nakapag-move on na ko so ayoko ng pag-usapan yan,” he says. “Also, I don’t want to be accused that I’m using her para makilala ako. So I’d rather just focus on my experiences in ‘Survivor’.”
But would he be willing to work with Marian and Dingdong Dantes now that he’s a Kapuso? “I’m not sure kasi hindi rin ako sure kung magpapatuloy ako sa showbiz. Let’s just wait for the results of ‘Survivor’. Wala namang ibang offers sa’kin ang GMA.”
Does he have a new girlfriend after Marian? ”Wala pa. I’m very much single.”
He stands 6’2” and used to play with Forward Taguig for Liga Pilipina. Who among the female castaways would he like to get to know better? “Si Solenn Heussaff. They say bagay kami dahil pareho kaming matangkad. Hindi ko siya masyadong kilala. Actually, when I joined Survivor, wala talaga akong kilala sa ibang castaways. Ang kakilala ko, si JC Tiuseco who won sa first Survivor kasi cager and model din siya. When I asked for his advice, he told me to eat a lot para makapagreserba ko ng lakas dahil walang pagkain sa isla. So what I did, talagang nag-eat all you can ako before we left for Thailand. But still, kahit pinaghandaan mo, ang hirap pa rin ng pinagdaanan namin. It’s not just man against nature kundi also against each other kayo at against ghosts kasi may multo sa island. Maririnig mo sa gabi, may mga nagdarasal at kumakanta, pero wala namang tao.”

RYAN AGONCILLO is jubilant that his trend-setting TV 5 show, “Talentadong Pinoy”, is celebrating its second anniversary tonight. “We’ll have special celebrity contestants for our anniversary show,” he says. “Competing are Arnell Ignacio playing the piano, Kakai Bautista singing a Broadway medley, Alex Crisano doing a rap number, Jao Mapa doing abstract painting, Nyoy Volante playing the guitar and keyboards, Ciara Sotto pole dancing and Shalala or Tolights doing a Raging Diva female impersonation act.”
Ryan is also starting next week his own hilarious mini-series replacing TV 5 Specials, “Lady Dada”, where he’ll be a female impersonator like Dustin Hoffmann in “Tootsie” and Robin Williams in “Mrs. Doubtfire”. He’s paired with Mylene Dizon. Ryan’s performance is said to be so persuasive he should be nominated for a best actor award.

FANNY SERRANO gives a sterling portrayal of a lonely aging gay seamstress in “Tarima” but he doesn’t want to put into his head all the comments of friends saying he’d win a best actor award for his performance. “I’m proud of my work and the film itself pero ayokong isipin na mananalo ako or anything,” he says. “Basta satisfied akong lahat ng nakapanood ng film so far, nagustuhan nila ang trabaho naming ni Direk Neal Tan. Also, matagal kong na-miss ang acting kasi I focused more sa salon ko’t mga negosyo kong beauty products. When I read the script of ‘Tarima’, nagustuhan ko kasi hindi lang naman siya basta kabaklaan kundi it’s a truthful portrayal about life of gays and prisoners.”
Is it he requested Rocky Salumbides not to bring his girlfriend, Eula Valdes, to watch the shooting of their love scene? “Oo naman. Siempre, para hindi kami mailing, kahit sabihin pang tasteful naman ang execution ng love scene.”
He’s a noted Christian. Why did he agree to do such a torrid homosexual love scene? “I’ve been celibate for the longest time because of my Christian beliefs so I really feel hurt pag naririnig kong ginawa ito kasi gusto kong makatikim ng lalaki. In the first place, I’m just playing a role. Also, the love scene is not meant to cater to prurient interest. Ang point nito is to show yung ultimate communication between two sad souls, the gay and the prisoner. Marami ngang naiyak dito as they found it so touching.”
“Tarima”, which means a sleeping cubicle in prison, will premiere at the CCP on August 28, 8 PM.

STARSTRUCK first runnerup Enzo Pineda celebrated his 20th birthday on August 14 at the Children’s Joy Foundation, a center for 150 neglected children in Project 8. “I was so touched when the kids, aged 3 to 15, did musical numbers for me and gave me greeting cards they made with heartfelt messages,” he says. “Nakakatuwa kasi mas napasaya nila ako on my birthday.”
His Mommy Macy was with him and says that Enzo has always had a soft spot for kids. They brought Mang Inasal meals with them plus toys to treat the kids. Enzo also danced for them. Loyal fans of Enzo called Enzopporters also joined them. Enzo has just appeared in “Diva” and “Lovebug” and is now seen in the Saturday night sitcom “Kaya ng Powers” and on Sunday in “Party Pilipinas”. What’s his birthday wish? “I wish GMA would give me more action and drama roles. I also want to be like my idol, Dingdong Dantes, na marunong umarte, sumayaw at kumanta.”
