How different is one from the other? “Ibang-iba ang ‘Kristine’ kasi mas malaman ang story, not just about a girl na inapi kundi alitan ng dalawang angkan that lasts for generations,” she says. “Aside from us nina Zanjoe Marudo, Denise Laurel and Rafael Rosell as the four main characters, meron pang ibang characters who have their own stories. Also, confident ako kay Direk Rory Quintos, as she directed my favorite teleserye, ‘Pangako Sa Iyo’. Maliit pa ako noon but sobrang fan ako.”
Someone told her she’s insinuating Direk Rory is now old. She laughs. “21 ako ngayon, 10 years ago yun, so 11 pa lang ako nun pero naka-identify talaga ko kina Jericho Rosales at Kristine Hermosa.”
She has hot love scenes with Zanjoe Marudo in “Kristine”. Won’t they get linked to each other now that Zanjoe has dumped Mariel Rodriguez and her romance with Rayver Cruz got aborted? “Kailangan ba talagang lagi kang ma-link ka sa kapareha mo? Ayoko nga, that will only complicate things.”
What cut short the romance with Rayver? “Naku, that’s so last month. Ayoko na pag-usapan.”
Someone says she discovered Rayver is a two-timer who’s also courting Sarah Geronimo. “Please, I don’t really want to talk about it anymore.”
What do they do when she sees Rayver and Sarah in “ASAP”? “Okay lang. We’re civil to each other.”

The youngest of three girls, Gwen was born in Melbourne, Australia then her parents brought them to Manila when she was 6 then they went back to Melbourne when she was 15 and she returned home last year and auditioned with GMA-7. Her dad is French-Italian and her beauty is reminiscent of Italian actress Monica Belucci. She has had two BF’s but is unattached at the moment. A filmmaking major at St. Benilde, she has studied acting and dance in Australia and Singapore. She’ll be introduced in “Party Pilipinas” next Sunday. This early, she has already been cast in a new soap, “Griselda”, to start in October, and was chosen as Vic Sotto’s leading lady in his new “Enteng” film. She’s also the new face of Belo Essentials. Stardom was really given to her on a silver platter. Wonder what those who struggled in Starstruck and are still waiting for assignments feel about this.

Ayaw nila ng mom ko for me to join showbiz.” She has graced the cover of magazines like Candy and Uno then made a name for herself in the internet through social networking sites like Friendster and Facebook, for which she was featured in “Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho”. “I want to try something new, like acting. I like the challenges in showbiz so I think I’ll be fine here.”
Andi Manzano is familiar to radio listeners as she’s been a DJ for some years now, starting with DJ Mo who became her boyfriend. Popularly known as Andi 9, she became a courtside reporter for FEU then became a VJ for MTV Philippines. “It’s mo who pushed to me to audition sa MTV,” she says. Her dad is first cousin of Edu Manzano so Luis is her second cousin. She has hosted two shows for Q Channel 11 and is now a host of “Party Pilipinas” along with Raymond Gutierrez and Tim Yap, but she says she won’t go into acting. How is she and Mo’s current squeeze? “Rhian Ramos? Okay lang kami. She’s a nice person.”

Why didn’t she slap Greta during your confrontation scene? “I’m supposed and willing din si Gretchen,” she says. “But I showed her my hand: Kita mo ba ito? Tapos itinapik ko sa balikat niya. THE MUCH AWAITED love triangle drama, “In Your Eyes”, will premiere tonight at SM Megamall. Its lead actor, Richard Gutierrez, maybe known on TV as Primetime King but on the big screen, he’s now the Ultimate Dream Leading Man, a tag given to him by his “In Your Eyes” leading ladies, Claudine Barretto and Anne Curtis. “Artistang-artista talaga ang dating ni Richard as he’s tall, handsome and a real dreamboat,” says Claudine. “Our film will show he’s also a fine actor who’s very effective in dramatic scenes. Anne and I play sisters in the story na parehong nakarelasyon niya. When you see the film, you’ll find out why he’s so irresistible.”
Anne agrees with her Ate Clau. “He’s not only an actor but also a real gentleman to his leading ladies. We were together in L.A. shooting the film and he really took good care of us. We have passionate love scenes in the film and he was protective of me, never taking advantage.”
