Geneva Cruz annoyed by a TV reporter

FREEHAND by Mario E. Bautista

GENEVA CRUZ was obviously annoyed while being interviewed by a TV reporter at the presscon of "Legally Blonde, The Musical" about her breakup with KC Montero. "I know where your question is going and I say enough is enough," she says. "Sagad na kami at nagsalita na ako, si KC, si Paco ang anak namin. Anupa ba naman ang gusto nyo? We've said everything that needs to be said. I know celebrities like us live in a fishbowl, but we are people too. Give us time naman to heal and maybe truly understand what happened to us. You won't help us heal if you keep on asking whose fault is it."

And what she says is true. In an interview with her son Heaven, the teenager admitted he's the one who advised her mom about the separation for the good of their family. "I'm glad the boy is now with his dad in the U.S. kasi he's protective of me and he won't like seeing me subjected to grilling like this. Inamin na namin na tapos na, sana, tigilan na. KC and I remain friends. Life's too short to harbor negative feelings so let us move on. I'm really happy that I'm part of 'Legally Blonde' as working helps me a lot to move on. I play here an aerobic instructor who's accused of murder, Brooke Wyndham, and Nikki Gil as Elle Woods defends me in court. Playing Brooke is challenging as there's even a scene where I jump rope while singing. Now, that's really taxing and if you're not fit, hihingalin ka agad. I assure those who'd watch this musical that they'll be entertained thoroughly."

The play runs at Meralco Theatre from tonight to July 18, megged by the highly competent Chari Arespacochaga who's a cousin of Paco. For tickets, call Atlantis Productions at 892-7078.

SHOWBIZ CENTRAL showed real life drama last Sunday involving former teen actor Dennis da Silva who's now serving a prison term in RIzal Provincial Jail due to drug-related charges. Dennis' wife, Tina, gave birth to a baby boy on June 1, the result of conjugal visits in prison. The boy turned out to be sick and cannot be brought out of the hospital. "Showbiz Central" aired Dennis' plight and some showbiz people quickly sent him help to settle his hospital bills, including Director Maryo de los Reyes, Kuya Germs, talent manager Manny Valera, Dennis Roldan and his former co-host in "Big Ike's Happening" when they were teens, Lea Salonga. Dennis has not seen his baby yet but because the boy was shown on 'Showbiz Central', he finally got the chance to see how his son looks like. It was the perfect Father's day gift for him.
THE LAST EVICTION night was held in PBB Teen Clash of 2010 last Wednesday and the last housemate to be evicted is Ann, the Diligent Daughter from Taiwan. The six finalists are Pinoy housemates Devon, Fretzie and Ivan and, among the teenternationals are Bret, James and Ryan. But after Ann came out, Kuya sent her back inside his house for a special task and she finds the other evicted housemates inside so it looks Kuya is cooking up something for the finals, "Unite at the Big Night", to be held live tomorrow night, Saturday, June 26 at the Ynares Gym in Antipolo. You can still vote by texting BB (space) name of your fave housemate and send to 2331 to Globe, Sun, TM and Bayan Wireless and 231 for Smart and Talk n Text subscribers. We have a feeling the winner will be a teenternational housemate since they get the highest text votes, which would be a pity since the show, after all, is named Pinoy Big Brother, not International Big Brother.

THE STORY concerning siblings who get separated as kids and later look for each other is very common. It was used before in the film "Kadenang Bulaklak", then in "Pangarap Na Bituin", "Impostora", and now in ABS-CBN's forthcoming "Magkaribal" and in GMA-7's current "Langit sa Piling Mo". This week in "Langit", the missing siblings of Marj (Heart Evangelista) will finally be shown. Her sister is Ryza Cenon and she turns out to be a sexy dancer in a club who becomes the kept woman of an older woman, Tonton Gutierrez, the villain who ordered the murder of Mark Herras' father. Mark is now engaged to Katrina Halili, who happens to be Tonton's daughter. Marj's brother is Jay Aquitania, who becomes an underworld character because of poverty. He is engaged in drug pushing and carnapping. Find out what happens when Marj finally gets to see her long lost siblings again.

THE PREVIEW OF "Endless Love" cum presscon was held at SM Megamall and in attendance were all cast members who are predominantly from ABS-CBN: former Star Magic talents (Dennis Trillo, Nadine Samonte, Krista Valle who's now known as Bella Padilla, Kathryn Bernardo and Kristoffer Martin), from Pinoy Fear Factor (Janna Dominguez), from ASAP (Kuh Ledesma), from The Hunks (Bernard Palanca) and comedian Mosang. The true GMA-7 talents are Dingdong Dantes, Marian Rivera, Gabby Eigenmann and Janice de Belen.

The pilot episode starts with two baby girls being exchanged at birth due to the interference of an electric fan and a two-year old boy, Johnny (who grows up to be Kristoffer and later, Dingdong). Jenny (who grows up to be Kathtryn and later, Marian) is the daughter of Suzy (Janice de Belen) but she's reared by Tirso Cruz III and Sandy Andolong. Shirley (Joyce Ching and later, Nadine) is the real daughter of Tirso and Sandy but she grows up with Janice. Johnny and Jenny are so very close as brother and sister you get the feeling they're ready to get into an incestuous relationship. But before the pilot episode, the truth will be discovered. Jenny goes home to Janice and Shirley goes home to her real family who all migrate to the States. Jenny is oppressed by her abusive brother, Gabby Eigenmann, and works as a chambermaid in a hotel where she is harrassed by the playful ladies man, Andrew (Dennis). Johnny returns from the U.S. and starts looking for her long lost "sister". Of course, it's easy to conclude that they'll eventually find each other to continue their interrupted love affair. This remake of the hit Koreanovela first shown in 2003 is directed by Mac Alejandre and Jun Lana. It airs starting Monday replacing "The Last Prince" that will end tonight.
