Pacquiao clobbers ABS-CBN shows at the ratings

LATELY, the ratings of GMA-7 on Sundays are eclipsed by ABS-CBN starting from "ASAP", but the Pacquiao fight last Sunday made GMA's rating soar to high heavens starting with the Pacquiao primer that got 17%, the actual fight that got 39%, and the GMA Flash Report (still about Pacquiao) that got 36.2%. In contrast, the movies positioned against it by ABS, "Pasukob" and "Very Special Love", got 13.4 and 201% only. "ASAP", which usually gets 15 to 16% sank to an all time low of only 6.4% while "Your Song" got 6.9%. After a long while, "Showbiz Central" (which got 12.2%) bested "The Buzz" (12%). But it's only a .2% difference. The high ratings were carried over and extended up to their newscast. GMA'7's "24 Oras" got 24.8% while "TV Patrol" got only 19.5%. Will GMA-7 be able to maintain this lead this coming Sunday even if they no longer have a Paqcuiao fight to beef up their programming and "Party Pilipinas" will start on March 29 yet. Let's wait and see.
