ASAP toppled SOP because of sheer number of Stars

ONE CAN NEVER underestimate the attraction of full length films to local viewers. Before "Diz Iz It", GMA-7 scheduled local movies against "It's Showtime" and they all rated high, sometimes even beating the ratings of ABS-CBN's late morning show. For the past several Sundays, "ASAP" has been clobbering GMA's "SOP" in the ratings. "SOP" bowed out and was replaed by "Kapuso Movie Festival". Again, it rated well, 17.7% vs. ASAP's 13.5% Even the replay of the first episodes of "Panday Kids" and "Diva" rated high: 13. 1% and 17.1%, respectively.

This Sunday, the Pacquiao vs. Clottey Fight will be surely be another top winner for GMA. But after that, they will pilot the replacement of "SOP" entitled "Party Pilipinas". We've seen its lineup of stars and, basically, it's the same as "SOP". They'll spend so much for this and it'll be sad if it'd turn out that local movies will still be rating higher. We think that "ASAP" eventually toppled "SOP" because of sheer numbers. ABS simply has more stars crowding in "ASAP", some of whom are given very little to do. Mas marami talaga sila, compared to GMA where some of the unknown stars have been given all kinds of breaks but remain "bituing walang ningning" up to now.
