Uma Khouny tries designing T-shirts

THE VERSATILE UMA Khouny of PBB 1 has tried acting and hosting. Now, he's into designing T-shirts for the brand called My Philippines Shirt with nationalistic statements. His designs were released last September in the first Nasyonalismo fashion show held at Aresi Wine and Resto Bar. "I actively participated in that event that paid tribute to modern heroes who promote nationalism on a personal level," he says. "Even I was raised almost half of my life in another country, my love for the Philippines is always in my conscioussness and it inspires me to create awareness and promote being proud as a Filipino. I got busy hosting the travel show, 'Trip na Trip', but I keep coming back to Manila for this project. I really want My Philippines shirt to help in fostering love for our country."

Part of the sales will go to Kythe Foundation for the benefit of poor kids who are in need. Among Uma's designs, we like "One Drop One Love", "Tutulong Ako sa Pilipinas", and "That's What Gayuma is All About". Each shirt is reasonably priced at P329.75 and available in SM Kultura stores nationwide.
