MARK NEUMANN has played lead roles before while he was with TV5 where he was discovered in Artista Academy, but he now plays supporting roles with ABS-CBN. “I’ve decided to change my career path and I’m now ready to do character roles,” he says.

He plays a daring role in the iWant series available on streaming, “Mga Batang Poz”, as a bisexual young man who has a girlfriend but also has an affair with his gay best friend. “I knew what I was getting into and it’s a new challenge for me,” he adds. “When I took the audition, I was told that I will have to do kissing scenes with another man. I said, why not? I’m ready to expand my craft and do things I haven’t done before basta maganda ang role.”

He’s really happy to be part of “Mga Batang Poz”. “This is one project na hindi ko puedeng basta palampasin kasi it’s an advocacy series. It is about the need for better HIV awareness kasi the cases of being afflicted with the virus is rising in our country, specially among young people.

"Noong una hindi ko alam yun, but noong nalaman ko, it’s scary and namulat lang ang mata ko na we need to warn young people to be more careful. I’m now really very proud to be part of this project that helps to educate and guide young people. It also helps to clear things up about the stigma noong mga may HIV, living with HIV.”

He says the sexy scenes are needed to show the consequences of what you do without protection. “It’s not just a sexy series. It just happened na sex, it’s a part of life. One of the most frequent reasons where you get HIV is through sexual intercourse, that’s really a part of it. The way our director, Chris Martinez depicted it, the show is  not really focused on just that. It’s just really part of the story so we can convey a valid message.”

“Mga Batang Poz” is about four young guys who are all HIV positive. They meet in the internet and later, in person, to share their common experiences. The other three are Awra Briguela, Paolo Gumabao and Fino Herrera who all also figured in daring scenes in the show.
