As 'You're My Home' Ends, Jessy Mendiola & JC De Vera Clarify What Is The Real Score Between Them Now

‘YOU’RE MY HOME’ is on its last two weeks. It started airing last November, replacing “Pinoy Big Brother”, and now ends after five months on the air. A family drama with Richard Gomez and Dawn Zulueta as the parents, and Jessy Mendiola, Sam Concepcion and Paul Salas as their children. Their life is turned upside down when Paul’s character, Vince, is kidnapped as a child, leading to the separation of his parents.

The story has since taken so many twists and turns and it’s said to have a final twist with the revelation of who really kidnapped Paul Salas. We ask Director Jerry Sineneng who the real culprit is and he says you’d have to wait until the final episode for you to find out who really did it. “I assure you, ang finale nito, pag-uusapan dahil malaking pasabog talaga,” he says.

It’s in this show that the tandem of JC De Vera as Christian and Jessy Mendiola as Grace gained a lot of fans and their love team is now called GraceTian. Because of this, some folks are asking if love has really blossomed between them on the set of the show. “We’re both very comfortable with each other,” says JC. “But to go straight to the point, hindi kami,” adds Jessy. “Talagang sa lahat ng mga nakapartner ko, kay JC ako naging very comfortable ng ganito. Nagugulat nga ako kasi kapag nakikita kami ng fans, kinikilig sila sa amin. Si JC, sa simula, akala mo, hindi mo magiging ka-close. Pero madaldal pala siya, makuwento, so we got to know each other better as the taping went on.”

So what’s the real score between them now? “We’re friends,” says JC. “We text each other kung walang taping, kumustahan.” “Si JC, ang haba mag-text niyan, e,” says Jessy. “Parang nobela. Naging magkasundo kami ng magpatulong siya sa album niya. Hindi naman ako puedeng makipag-duet sa kanya kaya tumulong na lang ako sa music video niya.”

And how is it working with senior star Dawn Zulueta as her mom in the soap? “Napakabait niya as a co-star. Very generous lalo kapag magka-eksena kayo. I learned so much from her, also from Direk Jerry Sineneng who’s very patient with me. I really want to thank lahat ng nagpupuyat in watching our show kasi late night slot na ang pasok namin. It’s really heartwarming that they stay up late just to wait for our show.”

So what’s next after “You’re My Home”? “Magbabakasyon muna ako after this to let go of the story kasi mabigat talaga ang material. But we’re still in ‘Banana Sundae’ naman ni JC.”

Mico del Rosario of Star Cinema announced that they’ll be meeting soon with Jessy and JC as a new movie pairing them together is now in preparation.
