RHIAN RAMOS says she misses taping for their acclaimed primetime soap, “Love of My Life”, where her tandem with Mikael Daez proved to be a hit among its vieiwers.
“We both didn’t know that the audience will warmly accept us in our roles, with me as Kelly and he is NIkolai,” says Rhian. “The viewers keep on asking in my social media account as to when they’ll see us again but, of course, no one knows kasi it all depends as to when the virus will be licked and the lockdown will end.”
But while “Love of My Life” is resting, you can watch Rhian again in one of her most well loved shows, “Stairway to Heaven”, a dramatic love story based on a Koreanovela where she is paired with Dingdong Dantes.
“That series is really memorable for me kasi hanggang ngayon, marami pang viewers na nakakaala kina Jodi at Cholo, the characters Dingdong and I played in the story,” she says. “We play childhood sweethearts here who made a pact na kami ang magkakatuluyan when we grow up.
"But events conspired to separate us from each other and I will have amnesia at malilimutan ko ang lahat. Tearjerker ito at maski ako, I cried when it watch then. I will surely watch it again now that it will be reshown.”
She says her favorite scene is the one where she is shown a necklace that brings back memories of her past as Jodi. “It’s so touching. The whole show is timeless kasi kahit marami ng Koreanovelas ang nagdaan at meron ng mga ‘Crash Landing on You’, nababanggit pa rin lagi ang kuwento ng ‘Stairway to Heaven’.
"To those who missed it before, now is the time para panoorin nyo ito at I guarantee you won’t regret it. I want to thank din lahat ng co-stars namin ni Dingdong dito na sina Glaiza de Castro TJ Trinidad, Jean Garcia, Jestoni Alarcon and Sandy Andolong. I’m sure memorable din itong ‘Stairway to Heaven’ for all of them.”
“Stairway to Heaven” is the show for which Dingdong Dantes won a best actor award in drama from the PMPC. It will be shown right after ‘Ika-6 na Utos’ on GMA’s Afternoon Prime starting this Monday, May 18.
Meantime, Rhian entertained a lot of viewers of her vlog when she uploaded the so-called Tagalog Challenge she did in her youtube channel.
“I did the challenge kasi lot of people tell me that they seldom hear me speak in Tagalog,” she says. “It’s true naman kasi I grew up na English speaking kami sa bahay kasi my dad nga is British. And now, gusto ko lang magpasalamat sa lahat ng mga nagsabi sa aking gawin ko 'to dahil natutuwa talaga ako na sinubukan ko siya.
"Kahit na nga hindi ko nagawa ng isang buong araw like I prmised. Kasi baka mag-away kami ni Amit (Borsok, her U.S. based boyfriend) kung sa Tagalog ko rin siya kakausapin.
"Pero natutuwa pa rin ako, dahil sinubukan ko siyang gawin at marami rin akong natutuhnan sa loob ng napakaikling panahon. Pangako ko, I will try my best to speak in Tagalog kapag nagsasalita ako sa aking vlog.”
