POPS FERNANDEZ says she misses being one the judges in the singing contest/reality show “Centerstage”.

“I miss my co-judges and the hosts led by Alden Richards,” she says. “Maganda ang samahan namin sa show. I also miss the kiddie contestants themselves. Napamahal na sila sa amin. Ngayon, ilang weeks na kaming hindi nagkikita because of the lockdown.”

Pops knows that there's still a dearth in the availability of protective face masks so, in a video, she made a Do It Yourself tutorial on how to make your own face masks with the help of designer Avel Bacudio.

She then posted the helpful video live on social media. The face masks she made are from handkerchiefs and old garments no longer being used.

“But first you have to wash them thoroughly to disinfect them,” she says.

“We could bleach it with chlorox to make sure that whatever virus are in them will all die. And then you have to let them hang dry in the hot sun na pampatay rin ng virus.”

Her video got positive feedback from netizens who appreciated her ingenuity.

“Thanks for showing us how to make home made face mask,” says one netizen. “It’s very useful. And very practical.”

“Ngayong kinakapos tayo sa face mask, this is one of the ways we can make our free time at home more worthwhile,” adds Pops.

“Makakatipid ka na at hindi mo pa kailangang gumastos lalo ngayong ino-over price nila ang mga face mask dahil there is such a big demand.”
