THE ASIAN TV AWARDS (ATA) will be held for the first time in Manila at the Newport Theatre in Resorts World. Now on its 24th year, it’s been giving awards to actors, directors, producers and hosts from various Asian countries since 1996.

More than 300 delegates from different nations are expected to grace this important occasion that will take place from January 10 to 12, with the awards ceremonies to be the highlight on the night of January 11.

This will be hosted by Filipino actor Mark Neumann, broadcaster Cathy Yang, Thai model-actress Ase Wang and Singaporean media personality Wallace Ang.

From the Philippines, nominated are GMA actor Martin del Rosario who’s nominated as best actor for his role as Barbie in “Born Beautiful” and actress-singer Julie Anne San Jose who’s nominated for best actress for her participation in the animated series “Barangay 143”.

Filipino stars who’ll be presenters are Diana Zubiri and Karylle who both starred in the iFlix movie, “Mystified”, and boxing champ, Sen. Manny Pacquiao.

The festivities will end with an after party concert on the night of January 12. Filipino singers who will participate include Martin Nievera, Gab and Kiana Valenciano, Jona, and Morisette, along with Indonesian singer Anggun, the Korean girl group Cherry Bullet, and Vietnamese singer Hoang Yen Chibi.
