BEAUTY QUEEN THIA THOMALIA IS ALDEN RICHARDS' NEW LEADING LADY IN 'THE GIFT'

THIA THOMALIA is Alden Richards’ new leading lady in his new soap, “The Gift”. Her full name is Cynthia Thomalia, but she will be using the shorter screen name, Thia. She won in the Miss World Philippines pageant as our country’s representative to the Miss Eco International 2017 in Cairo, Egypt in April 2017 and won the title, the first Filipina ever to win the crown.

In her Miss World Philippines batch, she is the one who has real “artista” good looks as she is so photogenic. She signed up with GMA Network after winning the title and she was first included as a host in the GMA Public Affairs lifestyle show, “Glam Up”, along with another beauty queen, Winwyn Marquez, and model-actress Michelle Dee.

Thia, 23, has a German dad and a Pinay mom who is from Maasin, Leyte. She was nine when she and her mom moved back to Leyte. She’s the youngest in a brood of five and her eldest siblings decided to stay in Germany. In college, she studied in Cebu and learned to be independent. It was there that she started as a model then joined beauty pageants, first winning as Miss Mandaue first runner up in 2015.

Aside from Alden and Thia, the cast of the upcoming series “The Gift” also includes Rochelle Pangilinan, Mikee Santos, Jean Garcia, Martin del Rosario, Jo Berry and Elizabeth Oropesa. Thia is thankful for the break GMA is giving her and looks forward to learning more about acting from her more seasoned co-stars in the show.
