DAWN ZULUETA TO DO STARMALL SAN JOSE DEL MONTE SHOW THIS SUNDAY WITH MICHAEL V AND CO-STARS IN 'FAMILY HISTORY'

DAWN ZULUETA looks radiantly beautiful at the presscon of “Family History” at Novotel. As one newshen says, she is glowing because she didn’t let science tamper with her face. “Wala siyang pinagalaw kaya natural beauty siya,” adds the writer seated beside us. “Tingnan mo yung mga halatang nagparetoke, hindi natural ang ganda nila dahil salamat po doktor sila.”

Dawn’s last movie was “Meant to Beh” with Vic Sotto and she’s happy to work with another comedian in “Family History”. “When they told me the movie is with Michael V, at siya rin ang magdidirek, I accepted it right away,” she says. “I’m a fan of Michael as a comedian and the project is for the whole family, imparting good values about relationships between married couples, and parents and children, so I’m really very happy to be a part of it. I play May, the wife of Michal who is Alex. Feeling neglected ako rito, taken for granted, then something will happen to our family na ikagugulantang ng viewers.”

How come she’s not been seen in a TV soap for sometime now? “They’ve sent me some scripts but hindi ako nae-excite or nacha-challenge. Kasi halos pare-pareho ang mga kuwentong pinadadala sa’kin, so sabi ko, rest muna ko sa teleserye. Movies na lang muna. Ang hirap din kasi sa soap dahil magdamagan ang taping at halos wala ka ng buhay. E, my sons are growing up. Teenager na yung panganay ko, si Jacobo, and marami ng tanong about life kasi nga nagbibinata na.

"So they need me more now kaya naman I chose na family ko muna ang priority ko. But kung may project sa TV na kakaiba ang material at maganda talaga, I might still consider it, but it has really something to be worth doing for me to leave my family. Itong ‘Family History’, nagustuhan ko ang material and I’m glad to be part of it kasi nga it’s about family life na makaka-relate talaga ang mga manonood.”

She has worked with some of the best directors in the country. How would she rate Michael V as a director? “Well, I’m proud to be part of his directorial debut. As an actor, no doubt he’s really very creative as a comedian, but he surprised me also in our dramatic scenes where he shows his sensitive side. Magaling din pala si Bitoy sa drama.

"As a director naman, sobrang hirap ng ginagawa niya kasi he’s also playing the lead role and he’s also co-producing it, but I saw his passion sa work niya and hats off talaga ako as there’s not doubt he’s really good in what he’s doing. I’m sure makikita lahat yun ng audience when they watch ‘Family History’ which opens in theaters on July 24.”

But this Sunday, don’t miss the free mall show of the cast of “Family History” as they meet and greet their fans at Starmall, San Jose del Monte Bulacan at 4 PM. Don’t miss Michael V, Bianca Umali, Nikki Co, Jemwell Ventinilla, Vince Gamad and Dawn Zulueta as they do surprise numbers for all their fans.
