Xian Lim Co-Produces With Viva Films His Latest Movie, 'Hanggang Kailan'

XIAN LIM is a co-producer of his new movie with Viva Films, “Hanggang Kailan”, that opens on February 6. He says it’s really a part of his plan to be not just working on cam but also off cam. As a matter of fact, he took the scriptwriting workshop of Ricky Lee so he can be a writer and he’s also set to direct his first movie titled “Tabon” that is an entry in the Cinemalaya this August. He’ll start shooting it soon.

In “Hanggang Kailan”, he is paired for the first time with former Kapuso star Louise de los Reyes and they play a pair of lovers who are about to break up while in Saga, Japan. “I enjoyed working with her,” he says. “Punong-puno ng masasayang alaskahan ang 10-day shooting namin sa Japan and she’s very cooperative even in the love scenes we did.”

What can he say about the observation of some folks that they have no chemistry. “Ang hirap naman kasi, hindi pa nga nila napapanood, nagko-comment na sila nang ganyan. I just hope they watch the entire movie first before they jump into such conclusions. Those who’ve seen our movie say na maganda ang teamup namin ni Louise and we have very good rapport on screen, so mas maniniwala ako roon kasi napanood na nila ang movie namin.”

Louise says Xian is a perfect leading man. “Very caring sa kapareha niya and very dedicated sa trabaho niya. While in Japan, I can see his determination to be physically fit. He works out lagi. Umagang-umaga pa, tumatakbo na siya. Super diet din siya, lalo na when we shoot intimate scenes, hindi siya kumakain kaya he can maintain his good physique.”

Xian has another career as basketball player of the Mandaluyong Tigers in the MBPL. And he actively plays, not just a decoration on the bench. “My dream when I came home to Manila from the States is really to be a basketball player, like my dad, Fred Lim of UE,” he adds. “Pero nauna akong nabigyan ng break sa showbiz, e. But now, the opportunity to play basketball came so I grabbed it. This is really a big achievement for me and hindi nga ako makapaniwala na matupad ko ang pangarap ko sa showbiz at sa basketball. So sobrang saya ko talaga.”

We just noticed that most of the stories coming out about Xian now concerns his off screen romance with Kim Chiu, how he fought for her because a lot of quarters are against their love affair, etc., etc. We’re just wondering if all these stories could help his “Hanggang Kailan” movie with Louise. If we were Xian, the next time somebody asks him about Kim Chiu, he should keep quiet and say he just wants to respect Kim as she is not part of “Hanggang Kailan”.
