Bela Padilla Tries Doing A Villain Role As An Evil Queen Versus Vice Ganda In The Filmfest Entry 'Fantastica'

BELA PADILLA plays lead roles in romantic dramas like “100 Tula Para Kay Stella” and “Day After Valentines”, but she didn’t hesitate accepting a contravida role in “Fantastica”, Star Cinema’s entry in the coming Metro Filmfest with Vice Ganda playing the lead role.

“I’d like to be known as versatile, yung puede sa bida at puede ring gumanap ng contravida roles,” she says. “Isa pa, I welcome the chance to do a comedy after the dramas I’ve been doing and the opportunity to work with Vice Ganda. And maganda yung role ko rito as the queen of that parallel universe called Fantastica. Ako si Queen Umuulan at Kapiling Kita. O, ang ganda, di ba?” she laughs.

Working with Vice Ganda is an enjoyable experience for her. “Yes, I really had so much fun doing the movie with Vice and our co-stars. Sa set, laging masaya, tawanan lang kami ng tawanan. Si Vice, maraming ginagawa sa set na spontaneous, spur of the moment, ang galing-galing niya. Kakaibang comedy film ito perfect for the holiday season.”

After this, Bela will be doing a new romantic drama with Viva, to be directed by the acclaimed female director Sigrid Andrea Bernardo. She is also deadset in cultivating her career behind the camera and she is now working ABS-CBN for a mini-series where she’s not part of the cast but of the show’s creative team as creator-producer.
