“Siempre, pinag-isipan ko munang mabuti kung kaya ko bang gumawa ng sexy romance,” she says. “Kasi, as the title suggests, dapat maging ‘Wild and Free’ talaga ako sa pelikula. E, mas kilala ako having a wholesome image in shows I did, like ‘Encantadia’ and ‘Haplos’, so malaking pagbabago para sa akin itong ‘Wild and Free’. And I realized this is such a big challenge and also a step higher to a new level for my career, so I accepted it. And once I did, I put all my heart into it. Inihanda ko yung sarili kasi gusto ko yung natututo ako at nagi-improve sa craft ko as an actress.”
What helped her in deciding to accept the project is the fact that it’s Derrick Monasterio who’s her leading man. “He’s a friend so I can discuss muna with him kung paano namin gagawin ang love scenes namin. Matagal na kaming magkakilala pero mas nagkakilala pa kami while doing this movie. He’s a real gentleman at pareho kaming naging ‘Wild and Free’ rito. We have to live up to our movie’s title. Napanood na namin ang sexy scenes na ginawa namin sa car at ibabaw ng washing machine at okay naman siya. Maganda ang treatment ni Direk Connie Macatuno sa mga eksena, very hot and passionate, pero hindi siya basta kalaswaan lang kasi maganda rin ang kuwento niya about relationships.”
In the story, Sanya plays Ellie, a strong, independent-minded young woman who works as a transport network service driver. Derrick is Jake. They meet by chance while commuting and quickly hit if off well with each other. Their instant attraction with one another soon blossomed into a budding romance. Then Derrick discovers a secret in Sanya’s past and he

Aside from this new movie, she also has a new TV show on primetime, GMA-7’s “Cain at Abel”, where she will co-star with top Kapuso actors Dingdong Dantes and Dennis Trillo. “I really can’t complain,” she beams. “Kaya kahit pagod ako lagi dahil sabay ang shoot ng movie at taping ng bagong show, okay lang. Lagi akong ganado and I can only thank the Lord for all the wonderful blessings He is giving to me everyday.”
