Megan Young So Happy That, 'The Stepdaughters', Her Very First Soap With Real Life BF, Mikael Daez, Is Rating Very High

MEGAN YOUNG has reason to rejoice as the pilot week of her new show, “The Stepdaughters”, emerged as the winner in the ratings game, especially when the kids Mayumi and Isabelle grew up and became Megan and Katrina Halili.

“Salamat sa lahat ng nanonood and we’re all thankful ng mga kasama ko kasi hindi na-disappoint ang GMA-7 sa amin as we were able to sustain the high ratings of the show that we replaced, ‘Impostora’,” she says. “At least, hindi kami napahiya! Thank God!”

This is her first team up with real life BF Mikael Daez and they’re grateful that the feedback about them is very positive. “Right timing lang yung pagtatrabaho namin together,” she says. “Alam naman ng lahat na ever since, very low key kami and I’d like to think that’s the reason why we were able to maintain a good relationship. We really guarded it well. We never lied about it naman. We never denied anything, right? Even if we wanted to shout to the world that we love each other, we controlled ourselves and I’m so glad people respected us naman.”

Up to now, they still try to avoid talking about each other, if they could help it. “Mas okay na kasi yung low profile. There are many things about us na mas okay kung huwag na lang pagkuwentuhan, like some details of our relationship, para we can maintain pa rin some privacy. It’s our decision naman not to share everything and we’d like to keep our personal life separate from our careers as actors, as much as possible. This has helped us maintain a healthy relationship for seven years now.”
