Gabbi Garcia Turns 18 On December 2 And Will Have A Grand Debut Tagged As #Sincerelygabbi

GABBI GARCIA is turning 18 on December 2 and GMA-7 is helping her fulfill her lifelong dream of having a grand debut. “Ever since I was a child, I really wanted to have a grand debut,” she says. “My parents said, gusto mo, mag-travel na lang tayo but I said, no, gusto ko talaga mag-debut. And now heto na, it’s happening. I will be wearing two gowns by Mark Bumgarner and an after party dress by Martin Bautista. My first dance is my grandfather and last dance ko is my dad.”

Her partner in “Encantadia”, Ruru Madrid, will be there and she’ll dance with him along with other co-stars in the show, like Rocco Nacino and Pancho Magno. So what’s the real score between her and Ruru?

“Ruru is a gentleman and we’re the closest of friends now. Hindi naman siya nanliligaw sa’kin and I’m sure kung manliligaw siya, magsasabi muna siya sa parents ko. So far, wala pa naman siyang sinasabi. At sa ngayon, okay na yung close na muna kami. Hanggang dun na lang muna. Lumalabas naman kami with my sister or my best friend and our handlers, pero never pang kaming dalawa lang.”

So will there be big changes in her life now that she’s turning 18? “Not much change. I respect my parents and I will still obey their do’s and don’ts. I still live with them and I don’t want to be disrespecting them by declaring total freedom just because I turned 18. But I’m glad na finally, hindi na ako under DOLE dahil I’m of age na, and I can now go watch movies na R-18. Ha ha ha!”

Now that she’s 18, will she join a beauty pageant? “Yes, that’s also a lifelong dream, but right now, sayang naman ang career opportunities coming my way so hindi muna. But eventually, siguro I will. Plan ko ring magpatuloy sa college. Nakapasa na nga ako sa entrance exams but ‘Encantadia’ came, so hindi muna ako nag-enroll.”

Her debut is tagged as #SincerelyGabbi and her fellow Kapuso stars who are close to her are preparing special numbers to greet and congratulate her on her coming a woman. “I’ve been a loyal Kapuso since I joined GMA three years ago and I want to thank them for all the good breaks they’re giving me.”
