Sophie Albert, TV5's 'Artista Academy' Winner, Signs Up With Mother Lily Monteverde To Be A Millennial Regal Baby

SOPHIE ALBERT just signed up a long term movie contract with Mother Lily Monteverde as one of the Millennial Regal Babies. Sophie started with Star Magic then joined TV5’s “Artista Academy” in 2012 where she became the female winner. Her first big assignment after winning was “Never Say Goodbye” where she got to work with Nora Aunor and Cesar Montano.

She also did “Undercover” with Derek Ramsay, tried comedy in “Tropa Mo Ko Unli” and starred in some stories in “Wattpad Presents”. She started taping a new soap, the local adaptation of “Pretty Little Liars”, but it was shelved. She has appeared in the movie “#Y” with Elmo Magalona and has just finished a new one, “Moonlight Over Baler”, with Vin Abrenica that is meant for the Metro Filmfest.

It’s common knowledge she’s related to the Cojuangcos and her dad is a nephew of the late Pres. Cory Aquino, but she’s not that close to her aunt who’s in showbiz, Kris Aquino. Her dad became comatose after a stroke for 15 years now and her mom became the family’s breadwinner.

Her real name is Bianca Reyes and she turned 22 last August 23. Where did she get her screen name? “From Direk Mac Alejandre who handled us in ‘Artista Academy’. Marami na raw kasing Bianca at marami na ring Reyes, so he changed it.”

She reveals that among her prizes from Artista Academy, she only got the P1 million cash and the Innova car, but the promised condo never came. “May 5 year contract din ako with them at dapat, next year pa ang end ng contract ko sa TV5 but nagpa-release na ako kasi wala na silang projects. I’m thankful naman to TV5 kasi sa kanila ako nagsimula, but I got so depressed nung wala akong ginagawa. Now, I’m managed by Direk Manny Valera who brought me to ABS-CBN so I can do a teleserye with Ms. Malou Santos of Star Creatives and also to Mother Lily nga where I’m now signing an 8-picture contract.”

Roselle Monteverde said the script of her first film is now being written, to be directed by Joel Lamangan. What kind of movie would she prefer to do? “Any kind. Wala akong limitations.” Can she go sexy? “Yes, why not? Basta maganda yung material. I’m just so excited to be a Millennial Regal Baby and I hope to be given good roles kasi I really love to act.”

She reveals she and BF Vin Abrenica have broken up. “That was some months ago pa. But we remain friends at maayos naman ang paghihiwalay namin. We both just realized we need to focus on our respective careers muna.”
