A TV Series On The True To Life Heroic Exploits Of PNP Chief Ronald 'Bato' De La Rosa Will Surely Be A Big Hit

IF GMA-7 IS looking for the right material to attract more viewers that will match the unabated pulling power of Coco Martin’s “Ang Probinsyano”, we believe their best bet is to come up with a series about the true to life heroic exploits of a real policeman.

At the height of the popularity of local action flicks, movies based on the larger-than-life adventures of real life cops are mostly big hits, like “Joe Pring” with Phillip Salvador (which even had a Part 2), “Alfredo Lim” (which had several versions starring different actors like Eddie Garcia, Ramon Revilla Sr., Cesar Montano and the late Rudy Fernandez), “Boyong Manalac” with Eddie Garcia, “Captain Jaylo” with Bong Revilla, and many more.

At this point in time, who do you think is the best real life cop whose life story should be dramatized on TV? Who else but PNP Chief Ronald de la Rosa, a great favorite of Pres. Duterte. The title of the series on him will simply be “Bato”, a monicker for which he has become so well known. It will show his life before and after he joined the police force and the heroic deeds he has done so far as a dedicated crime fighter.

Both he and Pres. Duterte are both currently enjoying great popularity and public approval in their relentless fight against crime and the drug menace. We think Bato will be amenable to dramatizing and serializing his life on primetime TV and someone should quickly talk to him about the possibility of doing this at the point.

We won’t be surprised if a primetime series on Bato will hit it big in the ratings. And who do you think should play him on screen? Our best bet is Dingdong Dantes but he is already doing “Alyas Robin Hood”. Another choice is Gabby Concepcion, who’s now with GMA. Whoever will be chosen, one thing is sure, it will certainly help boost his career.
