The Song 'Di Na Muli' Wins P1 Million Grand Prize In Philpop 2016, With 'Lahat' And 'Tinatangi' As Runners Up


CONGRATULATIONS TO the winners of Philpop 2016 held last weekend at Kia Theatre. The first prize winner of P1 million cash is the song “Di Na Muli”, written by Wally Acolola and Jazz Nicolas, interpreted by Jazz with the Itchyworms. The Itchyworms is really on a winning streak with a back to back win, as the group also interpreted the grand winner in the recent Himig Handog Song Competition, “Dalawang Letra” by Davey Langit.

The second prize worth P500,000 went to the song “Lahat” by Soc Villanueva, interpreted by Jason Dy. It also took home the Maynilad People’s Choice Award.

The third prize of P250,000 went to twin brother composers Miguel and Paolo Guico for their song, “Tinatangi”, interpreted by Cookie Chua and Bayang Barrios with the Benjamins. It also won the award for best music video.

The event was hosted by DJs Sam YG, Tony Tony and Slick Rick, with Bela Padilla of “Camp Sawi”. Special guest performers included Ogie Alcasid, Mark Bautista, Donna Cruz, Aiza Seguerra, Andrew E, Kim Molina, Chad Borja, and past winners Thyro Alfaro, Jeric Medina and Yumi Lacsamana.
