Vic Sotto And Pauleen Luna Not In A Hurry To Have Their Own Child, Will Wait For God's Own Time

VIC SOTTO says he and Pauleen Luna are not in a hurry to have their own child. “Basta si Lord na ang bahala,” he says at the presscon of “Hay Bahay” that starts airing tonight. “Darating ang baby, in God’s own time.”

As of now, there’s no dearth of babies in their family as his eldest daughter, Danica and hubby Mark Pingris, have two kids of their own, while son Oyo and wife Kristine Hermosa, are about to have their fourth child. In January, his daughter Paulina (with Angela Luz) will tie the knot with BF Jed Llanes and he might have another grandchild with this couple. If ever Vic would have his own child with Pauleen, then the baby will the sibling of Danica, Oyo, Paulina and Vic’s son with Coney Reyes, Vico. The baby will be the uncle or aunt of the kids of his siblings who will be older than him or her.

For the past several years, Vic is a fixture in the annual Metro-Manila Filmfest. Will he be joining again in this year’s festival? “Ewan ko kung makakasali pa ako kasi binago nila ang rules. Sa September na ang deadline, which is three months from now, at kailangan, finished full length film ang isa-submit mo. Gusto ko mang sumali, I don’t think makakatapos pa ako ng movie until their deadline. Naiintindihan ko naman yung point ng mga nagreklamo at nakikiisa ako sa kanila. Pero sana, ang inayos nila, yung judging ng entries kasi yun ang inireklamo, nandun ang problema. Kaso, ang binago nila, yung kung paano pipiliin ang entries na hindi naman siyang complaint.”

Since the emphasis now is said to be on quality, the entries might be mainly small indie films that tackle serious subject matters and not the usual highly entertaining big-budget movies for the masses shown during the festival. How does he feel about this? “Ang alam ko, ang mandato ng gobierno sa festival is fund raising yan. Kailangang malaki ang kita ng annual festival kasi diyan nanggagaling ang pondo ng Mowelfund for the benefit ng workers sa movie industry. Diyan galing ang budget for the Film Academy of the Philippines, Cinema Evaluation Board, Presidential Social Fund. So kung ang entries nga, may seryosong mga tema na pang-award, pero konti lang ang kikitain, ano mangyayari sa government agencies na umaasa ng pondo from the earnings ng filmfest? Sana, isinaalang-alang din muna nila yan.”
