“I’m so happy and proud of her,” he says. “Whatever she has achieved, pinaghirapan at pinagpaguran naman niya talaga yun nang husto. She deserves all the success she’s getting. Lahat kami sa batch namin sa Starstruck 1, natutuwa for her.”
But we’re glad that GMA-7 continues to support Mark’s career and he now stars in two new shows no less, the afternoon soap “Sa Piling ni Nanay” and the new sitcom “Conan My Beautifician”. “I’m really grateful to GMA para dito sa dalawang bagong shows na ibinigay nila sa akin. One is a drama and the other, a comedy. Ipinapangako kong aayusin ko talaga ang trabaho ko at tutulong ako para mapaganda nang husto ang shows na ito.”
“Sa Piling ni Nanay” is about surrogate mothers. Mark plays Jonas, the cousin of Benjamin Alves who’s married to Katrina Halili. Katrina as Scarlet is barren, so they get Yasmien Kurdi to be a baby maker or surrogate mom who’ll carry Benjamin’s baby in her womb then give it to Katrina later. Mark will also fall in love with Yasmien later. This is under the direction of Gil Tejada and will replace “Hanggang Makita Kang Muli” on GMA Afternoon Prime starting June 27.
After his affair with Ina Asistio, Mark’s love life is also now doing well, with him and Winwyn Marquez currently playing beautiful music together. They just had a trip together to Hongkong. “It was a great way to spend time off with the love of my life bago kami maging sobrang busy,” he says. “Ako sa tapings ko for my two new shows at siya naman sa school kasi babalik siya pag-aaral. Masaya kami sa bakasyon namin kasi first time ko to go out of the country na hindi work related. Very relaxing na kasama mo ang pinakamamahal mo when you travel. It’s my best trip so far and I look forward sa mga susunod naming trips na magkasama in the future.”
