Jennylyn Mercado To Be Paired With Piolo Pascual In A Movie Meant To Be An Entry In The December Metro Filmfest

JENNYLYN MERCADO has yet to renew her contract with GMA-7 that has already expired. We heard her manager, Becky Aguila, is asking for a sizeable raise in her talent fee which they feel is justified after Jennylyn became a certified box office star and award-winning actress in movies made by Quantum Films and Star Cinema.

“Deserving naman si Jennylyn dahil nalampasan na niya yung mga ibang aktres na kasabayan niya, Kapuso man o Kapamilya,” says one Jennylyn defender. “She has proven na may box office appeal siya at isa na siyang tunay na aktres. Sa GMA ngayon, siya na ang number one sa kanilang female stars.”

Because of the big success of her movie with John Lloyd Cruz, “Just the Three of Us”, we heard Star Cinema is getting her services again and she will star in a movie intended for the Metro Manila Filmfest this coming December. Shooting will start soon as this will have to be finished before the filmfest deadline in September.

This filmfest project is not surprising as Jennylyn has an enviable track record in the past two film festivals, with her entries “English Only, Please” and “Walang Forever”, not only winning numerous awards but also ending up as one of the top grossers.

And guess who will be her leading man in her new filmfest entry after she was paired with Derek Ramsay, Sam Milby and Jericho Rosales. No less than Piolo Pascual, that’s who. We won’t be surprised if the director would be Dan Villegas again, who successfully helmed her in “English Only, Please” and “Walang Forever” before.
