Enchong Dee Was Idle For A While But Now Back With A Vengeance In Several Multi-Media Projects

ENCHONG DEE’s last regular soap was “Muling Buksan ang Puso” in 2013. He was briefly featured in “Wansapanataym: Kung Fu Chinito” but he was idle most of the time. But now, he’s hosting “AgriCOOLture” for the Knowledge Channel, he has just released a new album “EDM (Enchong Dee Moves)”, he has finished a new movie for Regal Entertainment, “I Love You to Death”, as the leading man of Kiray Celis, and he also stars in a major teleserye soon. “Tamang-tama nga ang dami kong ginagawa kasi I’m celebrating my 10th year in showbiz,” he beams.

Enchong was launched by the Knowledge Channel along with Robi Domingo, who’s hosting “MathDali”, in a special presscon. We ask Rina Lopez Bautista, executive director of the Knowledge Channel Foundation, why they chose Enchong and Robi as hosts of their new shows. “Kasi ang guguwapo nila,” she says. “And they’re authentic hosts who believe in what the Knowledge Channel espouses in showing programs that will help educate students through media and technology. They also believe in eco-tourism and protecting the environment so they’re really qualified to be our hosts. The Knowledge Channel was established in 1999 and we’re proud that after 17 years, more than 5 million students in 6,000 public schools and learning centers have benefitted and have access to K Channel multi-media learning resources, from Itbayat in Batanes to Sitangkay in Tawi Tawi.”

“AgriCOOLture” is based on the DepEd curriculum for Grade 9 Technology and Livelihood Education and enlightens us on Aquaculture, Animal and Crop Production to show the immense potential of agripreneurship. “I learned so much while hosting the show,” says Enchong. “I do fish farming, water management, selecting and raising stocks and other info on how to yield good crops. I grew up in Naga and my family used to have a poultry farm and piggery so I intend to go into that also. This show will help young people realize that they cannot just aim to work in call centers but should go into agri-business for them to have a stable future.”

“AgriCOOLture” is shown every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 11:40 AM and 4 PM. You can also watch the first season of “AgriCOOLture” hosted by Arron VIllaflor on www.kchonline.ph or on youtube via knowledgechannelorg.

“MathDali” is seen Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday at 10 AM and 1:20 PM on Knowledge Channel, Sky, Destiny Digibox and ABS-CBN TV Plus. It’s inspired by Math education reformists Jo Boaler, Cathy Humphreys and Ruth Parker illustrating math concepts through real life situations. Kuya Robi is a math enthusiast who helps Igiboy Flores, Vic Robinson and twins Joj and Jai Agpangan overcome their fear of Math and learn through new interesting and exciting ways.

“Math has always been my favorite subject ever since I was a kid,” says Robi. “So I really enjoy being a math educator now to show there are many ways and processes to simplify solving math problems. Hopefully, this will open the mindset of people who are scared of math to see hindi sila dapat matakot at all.”
