Internet Dancing Sensation Balang Is Now A Child Actor In GMA-7's Afternoon Soap, 'Magkaibang Mundo'

HIS REAL name is John Philip Bughaw. But this child performer is more popularly known simply as Balang. He first hit it big in the internet with his dancing videos, making him an instant celebrity who was invited by popular TV host Ellen Degeneres to appear in her show, not just once but thrice. So how is it appearing in Ellen’s show that’s a hit worldwide? “Mabait po siya,” says Balang, who’s seven years old and lives in Cavite.. “Inasikaso kami talaga nang husto.”

Now, GMA-7 is also making him act as he is included in the cast of “Magkaibang Mundo” that now airs after “Eat Bulaga”. What’s his role? “Duwende po akong kasama ni Juancho Trivino at ni Pecto, then magiging kaibigan kami ni Louise de los Reyes kasi nalulungkot siya.”


So which does he prefer to do: dancing or acting? “Siempre, dancing po kasi sa acting, magme-memorize ka pa ng mga linya. Buti tinuturuan ako ng mga kasamahan ko kapag nalilimutan kong sasabihin ko."

Is he aware that he’s now popular? “Opo. Kasi, marami nang nagpapa-picture sa akin kapag nakita ako sa mall. Kinukurot po ako. Yung iba, nanggigigil pa.”
