Sylvia Sanchez Cries At The Presscon Of 'My Super D' As She Recalls How Her Family Was Abandoned By Her Dad

THE NEW ABS-CBN series, “My Super D” with Dominic Ochoa in the title role, starts airing tomorrow. Playing the role of his mom is Sylvia Sanchez, who’s actually only a few years older than him. At its presscon, old photos of the cast members were shown on the big screen, along with their own fathers. Sylvia cried buckets of tears when her picture with her own dad was flashed on screen.

“Eldest ako sa limang magkakapatid at favorite ako ng daddy namin,” she says. “But he abandoned us at akong tumayong daddy sa family namin. Yung ginawa niya, I took it as a challenge. Yung hindi niya magawa for my siblings, ako ang gumawa. Dahil sa hatred ko, nagpursigi ako, nangarap, nagsumikap ako para tulungan ang family ko, to show na kaya ko, kahit iniwan niya kami. Then one day, lahat ng galit at sama ng loob ko sa ama ko, bigla na lang nawala. Naging very positive ako. Ang husband kong si Art Atayde, kabaligtaran ng ama ko. Super daddy siya sa mga anak namin. I don’t know kung ano na nangyari sa ama ko, but I just want to tell him na, kung buhay pa siya, sana magkita kami kasi gusto ko siyang mayakap. Kasi kundi dahil sa ginawa niya, baka I didn’t strive hard in life, baka nandun pa rin ako sa probinsiya namin sa Mindanao.”
