Quantum Films Producer Atty. Joji Alonso Positive That Her New Movie, 'My Candidate', Will Be As Big A Hit As 'Walang Forever'

QUANTUM FILMS producer Atty. Joji Alonso is optimistic that her latest offering, “My Candidate”, will be as big a hit as their last one, the Metro filmfest multi-award winner “Walang Forever”. The story is set in the world of politics and is very timely for the coming elections. Derek Ramsay is incumbent congressman Sony Suarez, who’s now running for the senate. The problem is he’s basically shy and not comfortable in facing the public. His ex-girlfriend, Iza Calzado as Vera Chavez, is also a senatorial candidate. In contrast to Derek, she’s gregarious, mixes well with the crowd and has no stage fright.

Derek will get a communications trainer to refine his social skills. This is Shaina Magdayao as Billie Pono, whose mission is to hone his social skills and make him a charismatic public speaker. They start on official business but, eventually, they discover each other more along the way and become closer to one another. But then, the movie’s blurb is a reminder for them: “Bayan Muna Bago Puso”.

Also in the cast are Al Tantay, Ketchup Eusebio, Nico Antonio, Ricci Chan, Jun Sabayton and Tirso Cruz III in a very special role. This is the directorial comeback of Quark Henares (the son of Dr. Vicki Belo) who has helmed other films before like “Gamitan”, “Keka” and “Rakenrol”. This opens in theaters on May 11, with grand presscon on May 3 and premiere night on May 9. Atty. Joji is now also into managing talents. She’s the manager of new actor Marx Topacio, the boyfriend of 2016 Bb. Pilipinas Universe Maxine Medina.
