“I use part of my earnings to help these children,” she says. “Every time I have a new endorsement, may deal kami ng mommy ko that we help one or two kids born with harelip or cleft palate para maoperahan sila, then they undergo dental work and speech therapy. Pati sa earnings ko from my TV shows, may pondo ako for helping the foundation.
Hanggang kaya ko, I will be here to help the NCF and other children in need. Masarap sa pakiramdam yung alam mo kunsaan napupunta ang ibinibigay mo sa kanila. I’m happy that naging part ako ng buhay nila. Kahit ordinaryong tao, puede rin naman tulong, hindi lang celebrities, so I encourage everyone to help them.”
How does she feel about the tough competition between her love team with Daniel Padilla and those of JaDine and LizQuen on the Kapamilya network? “Each love team naman has something different to offer, so I think we can all co-exist peacefully lalo’t we’re all in the same station. The important thing is for the fan groups that support us to learn how to respect each other and the love teams na gusto nila. Wala dapat away-away, wala dapat issue. Basta kami ni DJ, we remind our fans every time we see them na huwag silang makipag-away. And we also do everything naman para yung fans na sumusuporta sa amin, hindi mawalan ng reason to continue supporting us. Lagi kaming true and sincere in the way we deal with them and we try our best to get good quality projects to please them. Kamukha ngayon, our next project is a new movie to be filmed in Spain and to be directed by Inang Olivia Lamasan. We know magandang project ito, so we will give it our very best to make sure it will come out well.”
What can she say to those who bash Kathniel for endorsing Mar Roxas? “Lahat naman tayo, may right na suportahan kung sino ang kandidatong pinili at gusto nating suportahan. Choice natin who we want to support at hindi kita pipigilan kung iba ang gusto mong suportahan. Respetuhan lang yan. We chose Mar Roxas kasi we believe in him, so respect na lang our choice.”
