DJ’s birthday comes at a time when his supremacy as the top Kapamilya actor is now being challenged by James Reid, whose stock definitely got a big boost when he and Nadine Lustre admitted that they really have a romantic relationship not just on but also off camera. Some folks even say the JaDine love team has overtaken the popularity of the Kathniel love team of Daniel with Kathryn Bernardo. And some quarters also say that his own mom, Karla Estrada, has more projects than him and is now also more famous than him.
But of course, ABS-CBN won’t allow this to happen as Daniel and Kathryn are their homegrown talents managed by their Star Magic, whereas James and Nadine are actually properties of Viva Artists Agency who are just doing shows on ABS. After their hit show, “Pangako Sa’Yo”, Kathniel will now do a big movie featuring them in more mature roles, to be directed by top Kapamilya director Olivia “Inang” Lamasan. This will be about OFW’s in Spain and will be filmed on location in Barcelona no less.
Not only that, Daniel will definitely stage another big concert at a big venue before the year is over. He’s had big concerts before at the Araneta Coliseum and MOA Arena that were sold out affairs. Let’s see if his detractors are correct in declaring that his popularity has waned or he remains be on top of the game and can still fill up the venue of his newest gig.
