Director Eric Quizon says Kim is their originally choice for the female lead and they’re glad ABS-CBN lent them to Regal. He adds that Kim is very good in her role and she has a good chance of winning the Metro Filmfest best actress award.
But for the roles of her two leading men, they made a list of possible actors and ultimately chose Dennis and JC. Kim has two daring love scenes with JC, one in a bathtub and one in their bedroom. She has one love scene with Dennis in front of a fireplace. And it’s all done with her prior approval.
“I felt this is a career move kasi 28 na ako noong April at hindi naman puedeng puro teeny bopper roles na lang ang gagawin ko,” she says. “After I read the script of ‘One Great Love’, talagang nagustuhan ko and I felt it’s really time para mag-level up na ako sa roles na ginagawa ko ng about five steps higher. It’s about time I get out of my usual comfort zone. Okay lang naman ang love scenes basta maganda ang treatment.”And she’s proud of the outcome of the love scenes she did in the movie. “E, inalagaan naman talaga ako ni Direk Erik at ng aming cinematographer. They really guided me all the way kaya very tasteful at hindi bastos ang love scenes sa movie. Mababait din pareho ang mga kapareha ko. What’s nice about Direk Erik is he involves his actors in the filmmaking process. And when you do a scene with him, it’s a collaboration kasi he wants us to be comfortable with what we are doing. He listened to my suggestions at first time nangyari sa’kin yun. Pati sa pagpili ng theme song, he consulted me and I was the one who chose ‘Dating Tayo’ of TJ Monterde.”
She was asked who she’s referring to, but she won’t answer. But it’s so easy to guess since the only boyfriend she had before was Gerald Anderson, her first ka-love team and, as of now, she has admitted she’s on with Xian Lim. Her last line in the interview, though, is very cryptic: “Balang araw, mahahanap ko rin siguro ang ‘One Great Love’ ko.” It does say a lot, doesn’t it?
