But you can’t just keep such a very big story a secret for long and the cat is now out of the bag. Heart is currently in Shanghai shooting the part 2 of the acclaimed international hit “Crazy Rich Asians” directed by John Chu, who’s now also directing the big screen version of the Broadway Manuel Lin Miranda musical, “In the Heights”, starring Anthony Ramos who's introduced in "A Star is Born".
Accompanying Heart in Mainland China is GMA Artist Center executive Gigi Lara since Heart is now officially managed by the Kapuso talent agency. They had dinner with the Ambassador of China to the Philippines before flying to Shanghai. Her role in the sequel will definitely much be bigger than Kris Aquino’s short exposure as Princess Intal in the first movie. She would now definitely be a prized Kapuso actress and we’re sure her fans are gloating, especially those who delight in pitting her against her foremost GMA rival, Marian Rivera.

Also reappearing is Gemma Chan as Astrid, who, you’d probably remember, dumped her cheating husband in Part 1, and she will now have a new love interest played by Harry Shum of “Glee”. We heard Heart will play a new character called Collette, who’s the daughter of a Chinese billionaire. She’s a fashion blogger (which surely fits Heart since she’s really a fashionista), a control freak and the girlfriend of a guy named Carlton who turns out to be Rachel’s half brother.
It’s said Heart will be staying in China to shoot for about a month. Heart’s new project for GMA Network is the latest edition of the Starstruck Artista Search. She will be one of the judges. The nationwide auditions will be starting this month. Well, here’s hoping that the show proper will start airing only after Heart has finished shooting all her scenes for her first international movie.
