“After doing a family comedy like ‘My 2 Mommies’, bagong challenge for me this romantic drama about a young woman who’s heart is torn between two lovers,” says Eric, who also plays Kim’s dad in the story. “It’s good Gina Marissa Tagasa has written a great script delineating kung ano yung pinagdaraanan ng character. Yun ang makikita ng viewers dito, yung struggle experienced by Kim as Zyra in a very different kind of love triangle. This is a turning point movie for her kasi from doing teeny bopper roles, she does something more mature, more daring. It’s a career move for her as she does love scenes with both her leading men.”
And how are the love scenes? “They’re sizzling hot. First time may love scene siya sa bath tub, sa fireplace and siempre, sa bedroom. Her fans will be surprised kasi hindi mo ine-expect na gagawin ni Kim yun. But she has to grow as an actress. Siya rin naman ang nagsabi na she wants people to see a different Kim. She was very nervous but I’m glad she trusted me and naitawid naman namin nang maayos. Alam naman niyang hindi basta isinaksak yang love scenes sa movie kundi kailangan talaga sa story. She didn’t impose any limitations, but I told her na hanggang ganito lang ang gagawin natin kasi we’re not naman doing an R-rated film. They’re great love scenes done in good taste.”

Does he believe in having a “One Great Love”? “Both ‘great’ and ‘love’ are very big words. Iba-iba kasi ang love. May love for God, familial love, love for your country, your career. Ito, romantic love between two persons. Ganun din naman ang great, iba-iba ang levels and connotation. But for me, I’d prefer the word true to great. Mas gusto ko na yung true love that will last forever. You will feel it naman when it comes and all you have to do is to reciprocate it.”
