“This is a very special collection for me,” she says. “ The Kamiseta brand is hip, youthful and active. I’d like to thank Mr. Gonzalo ‘Gunn’ Roque and his wife Cris, owners of Kamiseta, for giving my paintings a chance to be worn by women of all ages. When they printed it on their clothes, ang ganda lumabas! I’m so proud of our collaboration. What’s nice is that they’re very affordable.”
So why did they choose Heart as their new endorser? “Kamiseta is very fashionable and that is what Heart really is,” says Gunn Roque, who also owns a beauty clinic and the Kamiseta hotel in Baguio City. “She is also very artistic, just like my wife. And that’s what we like our clients to be, fashionable and artistic. Heart is a perfect role model as what a Kamiseta Girl should be and she’s also very easy to deal with. The clothes with her paintings will now be available in our 1,000 stores nationwide and also in our online stores.”“For me, this is not just an endorsement or mere business,” says Heart. “Our collaboration is the start of a beautiful friendship. What we’re currently launching is our holiday collection. I will now start preparing for our next collection and it’s a long process kasi gusto ko, mas masaya ang next paintings ko for them.”
Heart is wearing a dress with her own painting at the Kamiseta launch and it really looks good on her. “I really believe that good fashion is a powerful tool giving women the inner confidence to be who they aspire to be. True beauty is not just about looking good on the outside but also feeling good about yourself on the inside. It radiates from within,” she adds. Heart has been jetsetting a lot lately, traveling to Europe to be with friends from such international brands like Hermes, Carolina Herrera and Ferragamo. It’s good her husband, Sen. Chiz Escudero, allows her to be traveling by herself frequently. “He’s always been very supportive naman. I get invited to create brand awareness for their collection, like my recent trip for Ferragamo in Milan. I attended their fashion show and did a photo shoot for them. My husband knows I enjoy it as it’s so much fun and I also record my activities and post them on my own youtube channel so my fans can watch them. He also supports me when I’m painting and he knows when I want to just focus on my art. Kung minsan nga, hindi ako kumakain hangga’t di tapos ang painting ko. I intend to have another exhibit next year and I’m still in the process of completing my latest collection.”
So that means she’d also be staying there a lot? “Kahit naman ngayon, lagi kaming pumupunta roon. I like the very laid back life we have there and I have many good friends there. Pero siempre, I’d still be busy with my own career here in Manila. Puede namang balansehin yan.”
