When we made our first movie, ‘Loving in Tandem’, nate-take 12 siya kasi laging nabubulol sa Tagalog lines niya. Ngayon, take one na lang lagi. At isa ko pang nalaman about him, mabait siya pero may pagkabaliw rin pala siya kung minsan. What’s nice about him is his being so very expressive, so yun ang natutuhan ko sa kanya, to learn how to be able to express myself more freely.”
Maymay was the big winner in the PBB Lucky 7 last year and Edward was the 4th runner up. What about Edward, how does he feel about Maymay?
“She’s always full of energy so she serves as my own power bank kapag nauubusan na ako ng energy,” he replies. “Hindi kasi siya nalo-low batt. I’m used to being independent ever since bata pa ako. But with Maymay, I learned that you should allow others to help you so that you will also grow as a person.”
Their love team has gained countless fans. How do they feel about this? “Nakaka-pressure din kasi sobrang bait po ng fans ng MayWard love team,” says Maymay. “So we feel we should really do our best para hindi sila ma-disappoint sa amin. Ayaw naman namin palabasing on nga kami just to please them. Basta nagpapakatotoo lang kami na best friends pa lang kami as of now.”But their co-star in DOTGA, Ryan Bang, says they’re always so sweet in the shoot and looks like they’re on honeymoon. “Si Kuya Ryan, komedyante yan, so kung minsan, kung anu-ano ang sinasabi niya para magpatawa. Pero totoong sa set, lagi kaming nag-uusap. Pag nag-start ang tawanan at kuwentuhan namin, sobrang comfortable kami sa isa’t isa kaya feeling ng mga makakakita, nasa ibang mundo na kami. Pero sa ngayon, friends pa lang talaga kami.”
