“Ever since, never naman ako nagpanggap na kung sino yung kapareha ko, dapat ko rin siyang i-push na ma-link sa’kin in real life,” she says. “Ayokong mapagbintangang ginagamit ko ang private life ko to help promote a movie or a TV show. At saka ang paniwala ko, hindi naman kailangang maging kayo ng ka-love team mo para panoorin kayo ng tao. Ilang beses ko nang nakapareha si Derrick pero never naging kami talaga.”
But is true that he really courted her? “Yes, pero sobrang bata pa kami noon. But I can see na sobrang mabait si Derrick, pati sa mama at kapatid niya, very responsible siya. Pero at that time, hindi pa talaga ako ready. Ang importante naman is malapit pa rin kami sa isa’t isa kahit never naging kami. Super close friends kami kaya I’m so comfortable with him. Sa mga eksena namin sa movie na kailangang super sweet kami, hindi kami naiilang o nagkakahiyaan at all. Effortless kami talaga.”
Derrick and Jak have something in common: they both have great abs. Which one is more attractive for her? “Naku, e parang namang pare-pareho ang hitsura ng mga abs, di ba? Basta I admire them both in working hard sa gym to maintain their great physiques. Bilib ako sa disciplina nila sa kanilang sarili to achieve that kind of body. I wish I could also be like that sa gym, pero hindi ko kaya, e.”Some quarters concerned about her movie with Derrick also reacted when she posted on social media her photos with Jak taken during their Holy Week vacation. They’re so very sweet with each other and it’s said that this might not help “Almost a Love Story” at the box office.
There’s a rumor that she might soon be doing a movie with Kris Aquino, who she spoof in “Sunday PinaSaya”. How true is this? “Sana nga matuloy. May nagsabing ako raw ang pinili niyang makasama so, thank you very much. I’m really super excited to work with her.”
