“Hindi ko puedeng kalimutan ang press kasi malaki ang naitulong nyo sa’king career mula noong nag-uumpisa pa lang ako sa showbiz,” says Ai Ai. “Nagpapasalamat ako sa inyo na nakasama ko kayo sa buhay ko, mula nu’ng dalaga pa ako’t bago pa lang ako sa showbiz, tapos nag-asawa ako for the first time, then nawala. Nag-asawa ako uli ng second time, nawala rin. Ngayon po, papasok naman ako sa panibagong phase ng buhay ko, pero nandiyan pa rin kayo, kasama ko through thick and thin. Kahit noon wala pa pong social media, kayo ang nang-aaway sa akin, at ako rin naman, umaaway sa inyo. Pero at the end of the day naging kaibigan ko na kayo, at minahal ko na rin kayo sa pagdaloy ng panahon ko sa show business.”
Ai Ai is positive that her third marriage will work this time as even her three kids from her first two relationships approve of Gerald as her new partner in life. For a wedding gift, Gerald gave her a bracelet studded with tri-color diamonds the price of which is said to be equivalent to that of a brand new car. She was proudly wearing it during their pre-nuptial reception for the press which also coincided with Gerald’s birthday. “Maski ang close friends ko, botong-boto rin sa kanya kasi simple lang siya, walang arte sa katawan. They can feel daw his sincere and unconditional love for me and he will be a responsible husband.”
Ai Ai’s wedding gown is by designed by Frederick Peralta (a gift from her friend Marian Rivera) while Gerald will wear a suit by Edwin Tan. They plan to go to Europe for their honeymoon but they will do this in 2018 yet, a gift from their ninong, Mr. Tony Tuviera of APT Entertainment. They will also hold a separate wedding reception for their relatives in the U.S., including Ai Ai’s son, Niccolo, who can’t come home on December 12.
They showed their pre-nuptial video taken in a beautiful mountain resort in Cebu which is said to be owned by the family of Ellen Adarna. Ai Ai also invited to La Reve a magician, Loudini, to entertain the invited press people. It was really like a wedding reception as they also had cake cutting, then they gave each other a piece of cake. Ai Ai also threw her bouquet to the crowd while Gerald, his garter, just like in real wedding events. There was also a raffle and Ai Ai was so generous in sharing her blessings with everyone. But naturally, everyone is now praying for the success of her marriage this time.As part of the Marriage Preparation Foundation, one thing we want to tell Ai Ai is that the primary cause of marital breakdown is failed or broken expectations. So this early, we hope that she and Gerald have been honest in laying their cards on the table in what they truly expect from each other and their marital relationship.
There are also programs they can avail of that will help couples every step of the way of their marital journey, so they can nurture their relationship beautifully. They can attend the marriage mentoring and marriage enhancement programs of the Marriage Preparation Foundation which are all for free, to help them make sure they don’t make fatal steps in their marriage. The problem with lots of couples now is that they ignore these programs and only consult us when their problem is already at its worst and they’re just about ready to break up.
As for Ai Ai, we will pray for her and Gerald’s happiness as a married couple. She is currently seen in two regular shows and she’ll also soon appear in a new primetime show as the mother of Ruru Madrid. She has also just opened her own restaurant, Ai Sarap Express, along Sgt. Esguerra St. near the corner of Panay Avenue a few days ago. May all her projects also flourish and be successful.
