This early, the film is being compared to the award-winning family drama, “Tanging Yaman”, which won so many best actress awards for Gloria Romero. Ron is said to be the female version of Gloria in “Seven Sundays” and he has many dramatic highlights in the film. He admits he cried several times while shooting the movie.

Ron is a lonely widower in the movie but in real life, he’s the happy husband of Maria Fe Ilagan-Gibbs (the youngest daughter of the late National Artist Gerry de Leon) and doting dad of Janno and Melissa Gibbs. The movie is titled “Seven Sundays” because Ron’s character is dying in seven weeks, so he asks his children Aga, Dingdong Dantes, Cristine Reyes and Enrique Gil to visit him every Sunday so they can be together as a family before he departs (and that’s a total of ‘Seven Sundays’.)
“Seven Sundays” is directed Cathy Garcia Molina and she said in the presscon that after this, her 20th film, she’ll direct just two more films (one stars Sharon Cuneta and Robin Padilla, the other one stars the KathNiel love team) and then she will retire. A widow, she says she owes it to her kids to give them her undivided love and attention.
