Thea Tolentino Enjoys Doing Comedy In 'Sunday Pinasaya' After Doing One Drama Series After Another

 

THEA TOLENTINO is happy to be a special guest in the month-long second anniversary celebration of “Sunday Pinasaya”. “It’s nice to do comedy for a change, kasama ako sa Dugong segment, na spoof kay Pres. Digong, and I'm doing a dance number,” she says.

She’s also grateful that her new show, “Haplos”, is rating very high. “Sana maging kasintagal ng isang dati kong show, ‘Half Sisters’ with Barbie Forteza. Halos two years yun, e. Half sisters kami roon ni Barbie at, sa ‘Haplos’, half sister naman kami ni Sanya Lopez. Pero mas salbahe ako dito sa ‘Haplos’. Sa ‘Half-Sisters’, bida-kontrabida yung role ko, so hindi masyadong masama. But now, sobrang sama ng character ko that even my own mom sa story, si Francine Prieto, natatakot sa akin dahil baka kulamin ko siya.”

We notice that her scenes with Francine (and they really look alike) are done with a touch of comedy. “Yes, yun ang bilin sa amin, e. Yung ibang characters, like sina Sanya and her parents, nagdadrama sila, pero pagdating sa aming mag-ina, i-comedy raw namin para hindi masyadong mabigat ang show.”

She’s the top female winner in “Protege”, but she’s now relegated to kontrabida roles. How does she feel about it? “Okay lang naman maging kontrabida. Ang importante, tuloy-tuloy ang projects ko. Pero naranasan ko nang ma-bash nang husto dahil sa pagkokontrabida ko. This was in ‘Destined to Be Yours’ na nagkontrabida ako sa AlDub. Naku, talagang bina-bash ako nang husto ng fans nila, lalo ni Maine Mendoza. Pero okay lang, tumigil din naman nung matapos ang show.”
