Bela Padilla Had Fun Working With Jericho Rosales In 'Luck At First Sight', Refuses To Admit Ex-BF Neil Arce Is Now Dating Angel Locsin

 

BELA PADILLA’s first try at film story writing and producing, “Camp Sawi”, is a big hit, so she’s confident that her second movie, “Luck at First Sight”, will similarly be as successful. This pairs her for the first time with Jericho Rosales and it’s scheduled to open in theaters nationwide on May 3. “Dream come true for me ang movie na ito kasi noon ko pa pangarap na makatrabaho si Jericho,” she says. “Hanga ako sa husay niya bilang actor, lalo na nang mapanood ko siya in ‘Walang Forever’, na iniyakan ko talaga dahil sa galing niya sa dramatic scenes. It was directed by Dan Villegas, na siya ring director namin ngayon in ‘Luck at First Sight’.”

Bela plays Diane, who’s desperately in need of money for her sick dad, Dennis Padilla, who’s confined in the hospital. She meets Jericho as Joma by chance. He’s a gambler who needs money to pay his many debts. By a stroke of luck, they discover that when they bet in a game while holding each other’s hands, they would win big cash prizes. Will they eventually be lucky not only in game but also in love? That’s for you to find out when you watch the feelgood rom-com “Luck at First Sight”.

How was it working with Jericho? “Nang mabuo namin ang concept, we can’t think of anyone else who can give justice to Joma except for Echo. May pagka-exaggerated yung character niya rito. Kung iba siguro ang gagawa, mago-over react. But with him, tamang-tama lang ang timpla. And considering na he’s Asian Drama King na, he’s very humble. He doesn’t ask for special treatment.

Walang ka-ere-ere and very generous. Sa last shooting day namin, he gave me a gift of an old 1950’s typewriter. Hinanap niya talaga, kasi nabanggit ko sa kanyang gusto kong magkaroon ng vintage typewriter.”

Bela has broken up with BF Neil Arce of Arce Dairy but they still co-wrote the concept of “Luck at First Sight” and are also co-producing it under their N2 Productions. Some folks say the breakup is just a gimmick, but Bela swears they’re not together anymore. “We’ve maintained naman our friendship. Business associates pa rin kami. As far as I know, he’s already dating someone else.”

The rumor mill says Neil’s new girlfriend is Angel Locsin, with whom he was seen canoodling in Hong Kong last Holy Week. “I don’t know about that. Nandito naman si Neil sa presscon so ask him na lang directly about it.”

Some reporters tried to interview Neil regarding this issue, but he successfully managed to dodge their questions and eventually got to escape away from them.
