Mikael Daez Finally Goes On Record About His Love Affair With Megan Young, Refuses To Do Any Kissing With Lauren Young In New Soap, 'Legally Blind'

MIKAEL DAEZ is one of the leading men in “Legally Blind” and she co-stars with Lauren Young, sister of his inamorata, Miss World 2013 Megan Young. What if they’re asked to do a kissing scene in the show? “Walang ganun kasi we both requested ni Lauren, sa story conference, na huwag kaming lagyan ng love angle,” says Mikael. “Lalo namang walang kissing scene kasi I’m sure we’ll both feel awkward. Parang incest na yun kasi younger sister nga siya ni Megan. Si Janine Gutierrez ang kapareha ko rito at siya naman, sina Rhodjun Cruz and Marc Abaya ang makakasama niya.”
Lauren adds: “Ako rin, for the first time, I will be unprofessional and refuse to do such a scene. Hindi ko talaga kaya.”

Before, Mikael used to be evasive when asked about his relationship with Megan. But he’s more receptive now, admitting he first met Megan when they were both still students at the Ateneo. “This is the first time I am putting it on record,” he grins. “Noon kasi, bawal aminin kasi may love team ako with Andrea Torres while Megan is with the other network hanggang mag-Miss World nga siya.”

They’re officially together for six years now and he sees Megan as THE ONE, but they don’t have any plans of walking down the aisle anytime soon as there’s no need to rush. “We’re just enjoying every moment of what we have now.”



In “Legally Blind”, Mikael plays Edward, a lawyer who helps Janine, a blind lawyer, in her quest for justice to find out who raped her and caused her blindness. In the process, he falls in love with her without knowing that Janine’s rapist is his own older brother, Marc Abaya.

“I have to talk to actual lawyers to prepare for my role,” he says. “It also helps na matindi ang suporta ng director namin, Ricky Davao. Maganda yung conflict ng character ko rito kasi I discover that the man who raped and nearly killed the girl I love, ang sarili ko palang kapatid.”
