Despite Predictions That She'll Win Anew As Best Actress, Jennylyn Mercado Says She Doesn't Want To Expect Winning Another Trophy For 'Walang Forever'

JENNLYN MERCADO is getting raves for her portrayal of a scriptwriter whose works mirror the events in her own real life in “Walang Forever”. Asked if she believes in “may forever” or “walang forever”, she says she believes more in the latter. “Wala naman talaga kasing forever, simply because we don’t live forever,” she says. “There might be love that lasts a lifetime, but not forever.”

Despite repeated reports that she has reconciled with Dennis Trillo, Jen maintains that she is loveless at the moment. “Naiinggit nga ako sa mga babaeng masaya ang lovelife,” she says. “But I’m not in a hurry to be in a relationship. Mas magandang kusang maghintay ng tamang panahon para matagpuan mo ang tamang lalaki.”


How come she’s loveless when she’s FHM’s Sexiest Woman this year? “Aba, malay ko. Honestly, hindi ako comfortable matawag na sexiest woman up to now. I don’t even look at myself nga as someone who’s sexy, kasi ang posture ko na nga lang, pangit, even the way I walk.”

After bagging the best actress award last year for "English Only, Please", what can she now say about the predictions that, come this year's filmfest awards night, she will win her second Metro Film Festival best actress trophy in a row for her fine performance in “Walang Forever”? “Naku, I don’t want to feel pressured about that. Basta ginawa ko lang nang maayos ang trabaho. Kung totoo ngang mananalo ako uli, maraming salamat. Pero kung hindi naman, okay rin lang. Ang mas gusto ko, panoorin ng mas maraming tao ang movie namin dahil talagang ipinagmamalaki namin ito.”
