
Today, the featured films are “52 Tuesdays” at 4:30 PM (an Aussie film by Sophie Hyde about a mother undergoing gender transition and her relationship with her teen daughter who she meets every Tuesday), “Kumu Hina” at 7 PM (about the struggles of Hina, a transgender native Hawaiian teacher) and “Breaking Free” at 9:30 PM (an eye-opening docu about the brutal victimization of lesbians, gays and transgenders in India directed Sridhar Rangayan).
Scheduled on Thursday are “Grace” at 4:30 PM (about a Filipina named Grace who went to work in Israel 20 years ago, married an Israeli man, had three sons, then rediscovered her sexuality and entered into a relationship with another Filipina), “Shunned” at 7 PM (a docu by Janice Villarosa about a group of Transwomen in the Philippines as they compete in a gay pageant and find strength in their convictions and in one other) and “Esoterika Manila” (Elwood Perez’ second movie in a trilogy about the creative process, starring singer Ronnie Liang in his first starring role as a graphic artist who has an affair with transgenders).
