And to think that Alden and Yaya still were not able to talk to each other and were even seated with a long table separating them. Lola Nidora also warned them: “No touch.” As Alden wrote, obviously frustrated: “So near and yet so far.”
The Aldub love team just celebrated their 2nd monthsary and no doubt their tandem has truly changed their lives for the better. Maine Mendoza’s life as a simple dubsmash girl from Bulacan has changed dramatically, with her now a phenomenal sensation with millions of followers on Twitter and Instagram. She has two big endorsements with Alden, then she’ll have another one with Wally as Lola Nidora, and she’s starting to shoot her first movie which is a Metro-Manila Filmfest entry at that.
As for Alden, he is now also in demand to do shows all over the country, even abroad. And he can name his price. Also, aside from his two endorsements with Yaya Dub, he has no less than 15 new product endorsements waiting for him to shoot a TV commercial with them. GMA Artist Center is making a killing from him since they will get a 20% commission from all his endorsements, as he’s under contract with them as his managers. And they should thank TAPE and Eat Bulaga for boosting Alden’s career to high heavens while GMA has not given him any project since “Ilustrado”, which they’re now even replaying on GMA News TV to take advantage and cash in on Alden’s new found popularity.According to AGB Nielsen, even the recent replay of Alden’s real life story on “Magpakailanman” rated no less than 30.3%. It’s even higher than when the same episode was aired originally in March and it got only a 25% rating. This goes to show how hot Alden really is these days. It clobbered MMK that got only 18%. Alden also helped up the ratings of “Sunday Pinasaya”, which got a rating of 22%, trouncing ASAP and its episode taped in London that got only 8%.
