TV5s Two New Saturday Shows, 'Parangnormal Activity' & 'Lolabasyang.Com' Are Hits While Another Show, 'Kispinoy', Is Now Off The Air

DIRECTOR PERCI INTALAN has reason to rejoice. The two shows produced by his and Jun Lana's Ideafirst Company for TV5 are both rating very well on Saturday nights. "We were really surprised kasi aside from the great feedback from the press and the viewers, nagte-trending ito on social media and we also get great support from the advertisers," he says.

The cast of both shows were up in Baguio last weekend. Boots Anson Roa as Lola Basyang did a read-along project for 30 children at the Philippine Military Academy to help encourage children to go back to reading books. Ella Cruz as Charlie, Paolo Santiago as Macoy, Shaun Salvador as Third and Andre Garcia as Red of "ParangNormal Activity" were shooting the 7th episode of their show in a haunted house in Baguio. A special presscon was held for the Baguio press people and we were invited to join it.

Later, we also joined the Pine City Fright Tour with the teenage cast of "ParangNormal Activity" at Laperal White House. Some members of the press opted not to join it as they got scared since it's said to be haunted, but ironically, on their way back to our hotel, they ended up instead on the road to the even more frightening Diplomat Hotel, including TV5 PR boss Peachy Guioguio.

The episode taped in Baguio is about a ghost imprisoned inside a jar. Kiray Celis, whose "Manananggurl" episode in "ParangNormal Activity" was a hit and rated so high, will end up being held captive inside the jar, along with the ghost.

Meantime, another new show that started on TV5 simultaneously with "Parang Normal Activity" and LolaBasyang", "KisPinoy" hosted by Richard Gutierrez, has been discontinued.
