Lovi Poe Plays A Taong Graza In Her New Soap, 'Beautiful Strangers'

LOVI POE plays her most challenging role to date as Joyce, a woman who loses her sanity and becomes a taong graza in "Beautiful Strangers", as directed by Albert Langitan. "Ang ganda ng role ko kaya ganado talaga ako sa taping," she says. "Later on, I will be given the chance na maghiganti sa mga taong nang-api sa akin. Na-miss ko rin doing this kasi matagal na yung last soap ko, 'Dalawang Mrs. Real.' And this time, I'm happy to be reunited with my good good friend, Heart Evangelista."

And also with her real life squeeze, Rocco Nacino, right? "Yes, of course. Also with Benjamin Alves and two of our award-winning senior stars in the cast, Tito Christopher de Leon and Tita Dina Bonnevie. Ang sarap nilang katrabaho as you will learn so much from them."

Lovi says it's okay if her movie that was entered in
the Metro Manila Filmfest, "Lakambini", was rejected and didn't become part of the Magic 8 finalists. "Sayang nga, but tuloy pa rin ang project, directed by two top directors no less, Jeffrey Jeturian and Ellen Ongkeko Marfil," she says. "Maganda talaga ang material nito as it traces the life of Gregoria de Jesus or Ka Oriang and her relationships with Andres Bonifacio and her second husband, Julio Nakpil. It's very challenging to play a real life person who is part of our national history."

Andres Bonifacio will reunite Lovi once again with BF Rocco Nacino while Julio Nakpil will be played by Paulo Avelino, with whom she shares the same manager, Leo Dominguez, and with whom she has done several movies before.
