Andre Paras Turns 19 & Celebrates It With The Wards Of Tahanang Walang Hagdanan

ANDRE PARAS turned 19 on November 11 and opts to celebrate his birthday with the wards of Tahanang Walang Hagdanan in Cainta. The 6-foot-2 Kapuso arrived early at the venue with bags of goodies especially packed for the residents. He was warmly greeted by kids and residents alike, singing to him the birthday song as he entered the social hall as led by the event’s host and fellow GMA Artist Center talent Arianne Bautista. More than 100 residents of the Tahanang Walang Hagdadan took part in the birthday party.

“I had fun playing games with the children,” says Andre who also posed for selfies with his well wishers.

Since he is also into basketball like his famous dad, Benjie Paras, Andre gamely accepted the challenge to play wheelchair basketball with some persons with disabilities. After the game, Andre admitted that it was tough to play basketball while on the wheelchair. “You have to have a strong upper body to be able to do that, kaya bumilib ako sa galing nila,” he says.
And Andre got a great birthday gift: the news that he is nominated for an acting award in the coming Star Awards for TV for his performance in “Half Sisters”. “It’s my first nomination ever so I’m really excited,” he grins.
