Two GMA Soaps To End On July 15: 'Poor Senorita' And 'Hanggang Makita Kang Muli', To Be Replaced By 'Encantadia' And 'Sinungaling Mong Puso'

TWO GMA-7 SOAPS will end this coming week, with their last telecast on Friday, July 15. One is on primetime, “Poor Senorita”, starring Regine Velasquez and Mikael Daez. It will be replaced by the star-studded costume extravaganza, “Encantadia”, starting July 18.

The other show is on Afternoon Prime, “Hanggang Makita Kang Muli”, starring Bea Binene and Derrick Monasterio. It will be an action packed finale week after Rita Avila as Glenda gains consciousness that Ina Feleo is Odessa who transformed herself into Margaret. Angelika de la Cruz hurries to the wedding of Ana with Raymart Santiago as Larry and screams: “Itigil ang kasal!”

She reveals the truth that it was Ina who kidnapped their daughter as a child. Ina escapes but makes Bea her hostage, even managing to shoot Angelika who is rushed to the hospital. “Hanggang Makita Kang Muli” will be replaced by “Sinungaling Mong Puso”, a movie that starred Vilma Santos, Gabby Concepcion and Aga Muhlach. The new stars are Rhian Ramos, Rafael Rosell and Kiko Estrada.

Rescue5, Hosted By Renz Ongkiko, Comes Up With A Helpful Book About Disaster Preparedness Approved By Various Government Agencies

THE PREMIERE public service team of TV5, Rescue5, partners with various government agencies to strengthen its Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) initiatives. The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC with head Alexander Pama), Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA with Administrator Vicente Malano), Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS with Director Renato Solidum), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) and the Department of Education (DepEd) have reviewed and given Rescue 5’s activity book on disaster preparedness their seals of approval.

The team pioneers in presenting a fun, innovative and sustainable way of educating children on how to protect themselves during floods, fires, earthquakes and storm surges by developing the Rescue 5 activity book. “Although they are the most vulnerable during disasters, we believe children can be empowered and engaged to ensure their safety. By coloring and answering the activity book, kids are motivated to learn about disaster preparedness,” TV5 Public Service Head Sherryl Yao says.

The activity book which is written in different mother tongues such as Tagalog, Sinugbuanong Binisaya and Waray contains various interactive contents such as pictures to color, puzzles and mazes that make learning about disaster preparedness easy to understand and remember, and more enjoyable. It has also bagged several recognitions from the Philippine Quill Awards and Anvil Awards.

The activity book’s distribution is part of Rescue 5’s Oplan Handa sa Eskwela project. The team goes to public elementary schools especially in disaster-prone areas nationwide to conduct safety demos and hand out 72-hour survival kits (backpacks containing emergency devices and school supplies). Rescue 5 is hosted by Renz Ongkiko and is the country’s trailblazer in cause journalism. It combines broadcast innovations and public service to deliver news that takes action.
