sylvia signs contract with arnold vegafria

SYLVIA SANCHEZ has signed up with Arnold Vegafria’s ALV Talent Circuit as co-manager for all her business transactions outside of television.

“We warmly welcome Sylvia to our roster of talents,” says Arnold at their contract signing held at Annabel’s. “Sylvia’s acting talent is beyond reproach, as attested to by her several acting awards. She’s a brand on her own and that’s what we’re excited to explore as there’s so much room for creative and artistic collaborations.

"We’re planning to produce a drama movie about family intended for the Metro-Manila Filmfest next year in 2020. Two possible endorsements are also in the offing but we cannot divulge the details yet. Also, I’m a good friend of Sylvia’s husband, Art Atayde, and I’m happy na idinagdag nila ako sa team nila to be Sylvia’s business manager who’ll handle her business ventures including personal appearances.”

“Ako naman, I’m happy na may bagong mag-aalaga sa akin,” says Sylvia. “After my former manager passed, si Tita Angge, nahirapan talaga ako humanap ng bagong manager. I’m scare I might get someone who cannot love me the same way Tita Angge did.

"But I’ve known Arnold for sometime and I know mabuti siyang tao so when my husband suggested him, I felt na mapagtitiwalaan ko siya at malaki ang maitutulong niya sa career ko. Ituturing ko siyang member ng aming family namin kasi trust and loyalty are very important to me. For me, hindi pera-pera lang ito.”

Sylvia continues to get good reviews for her crackerjack performance as the endearing mother, Luz, in “Pamilya Ko”. The last episode shows her being shot and viewers are curious as to what will happen to her. “Tuloy-tuloy pa rin po kami up to next year,” says Sylvia. “Patapos na po yung Book One namin and we will start taping na yung Book Two to start airing in January. We’re all happy that we continue to enjoy high ratings.”

In the scenes where she’s hitting Joey, it’s obvious they did it for real. Didn’t Joey get hurt?

“Actually, I wanted to control yung pagsampal ko sa kanya kasi malakas talaga ako manampal, e. But our director said kailangang totoo talaga. Considering daw yung sakit na idinulot ni Joey sa character ko dahil sa kataksilan niya, dapat, lakasan ko raw talaga.

"So he got hurt, hindi maiiwasan, e. But nagsabi ako agad sa kanya, Chong, sorry ha. He’s very professional naman and even said sanay na raw siyang sinasaktan siya.”

How will she and her family spend Christmas? “We’re all going to Dubai. Doon kami magpapasko. We are leaving on Christmas Day and babalik kami rito ng January 3.”

Will her prospective daughter in law, Maine Mendoza, be with them considering she’s often seen joining their family nowadays? “Ay, hindi po. She will celebrate Christmas with her own family.”

Maine and Arjo recently had a vacation in the States. How does she feel about them traveling together? “I can see my son is happy and Maine is happy, so I’m happy for them, okay na yun.

"Hindi ako nakikialam sa lovelife ng mga anak ko. Busy rin ako. Busy na nga ako being wife to my husband and being mom to our youngest child, makikialam pa ba ako sa kanila?”

How’s the Beautederm store she just opened along Roces Avenue? “Ay, it’s doing very well. Kagagaling ko lang doon at marami talagang walk ins para bumili. So next year, I will definitely open another branch.”
